Korean set-meal lunch for four near Yeoju IC: Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap
In short
Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap is a hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) restaurant in Yeoju, Gyeonggi, close to Yeoju IC and Yeoju Premium Outlets. Arriving at 12:30 on a Saturday meant about a 30-minute wait, then a table for four with a bulgogi set for two (50,000 won) and a Nadeulmok set for two, from the appetizers through stone-pot rice and nurungji (scorched rice tea). The meat-stuffed fried eggplant and fluffy stone-pot rice were the highlights, and wide parking lots in front and behind make Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap easy to reach by car.

How close is Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap to Yeoju IC?
This is Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap, a hanjeongsik restaurant in Yeoju! It's located close to Yeoju IC, so you can arrive quickly after exiting the highway. It's also relatively close to Yeoju Premium Outlets, making it a convenient spot to combine with shopping.
The restaurant occupies its own standalone building, with large parking areas both in front and behind. At first glance, you might feel there isn't much parking right in front, but if you go around back, there's a spacious lot that makes parking easy.

How long is the Saturday lunch wait?
We arrived around 12:30 on Saturday, and there was already quite a wait. As expected for weekend lunchtime, there were a lot of customers. We waited about 30 minutes before being seated.
The interior had the feel of a hanjeongsik restaurant that's been running for a long time. Tables filled most of the space, with some private rooms as well, which looked good for group visits. The tables seemed to have been replaced with new ones, so everything felt clean when we sat down. Reservations are possible on weekdays, but since weekends get so busy that they don't take reservations, if you're planning a weekend visit, it's best to expect a wait.

Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap menu and prices
The menu ranged from the basic Nadeulmok rice set to bulgogi, braised cutlassfish, and soy crab sets, among others. As long as the headcount matches, you can order different sets together, so we ordered the Nadeulmok set for two and the bulgogi set for two. Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap cooks its rice with Yeoju rice and makes its side dishes from seasonal vegetables it grows itself.

That's probably why being able to enjoy such a wide variety of side dishes together felt like this place's charm.

Appetizers: tangpyeongchae, japchae, salad and fried eggplant
A little while after ordering, the appetizers came out first: tangpyeongchae (mung bean jelly salad), japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), salad, and fried eggplant. Everything from the appetizers onward came out looking neat, and the seasoning wasn't overdone, which made it easy to eat.

The tangpyeongchae had a nutty sesame oil aroma. With seaweed, egg, and carrot mixed in, the nutty flavor and the combination of ingredients worked really well together.

The japchae was also good, with chewy glass noodles. The seasoning wasn't too sweet, so it was nice to eat lightly before the meal.

The vegetable salad also wasn't overloaded with sauce. It was pleasantly sweet and clean, which was good for whetting the appetite before the other dishes.

Fried eggplant stuffed with seasoned meat
Personally, my favorite of the appetizers was the fried eggplant. A large piece of fried eggplant came out per person, and since it was freshly fried, it was still piping hot.

It wasn't just plain fried eggplant — there was meat filling inside. The soft texture of the eggplant went really well with the meat filling. It's also sold separately as an add-on menu item, and after tasting it, I understood why haha.

What comes with the hanjeongsik spread?
As we were finishing the appetizers, the full hanjeongsik spread was quickly set out. Along with a variety of basic side dishes, bulgogi, jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork), doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and mackerel all came out, followed finally by the hot stone-pot rice. With the table fully set, it really was a generous spread.

The basic side dishes alone were quite varied. Seasoned eggplant, gungchae, braised potatoes, seasoned zucchini, kimchi, seasoned king oyster mushrooms, mu kimchi, and seasoned balloon flower root were all served.
There were so many side dishes that it felt like you could finish a whole bowl of rice on the side dishes alone haha. Each one didn't feel thrown together carelessly either — you could tell care went into making each one.

Is the bulgogi set for two enough food?
We started with the bulgogi. The bulgogi we ordered for two was a style with sweet beef bulgogi seasoning. Even though we ordered the two-person portion, the amount was quite generous.

The portion looked large enough for three people to share comfortably. The meat was tender and the seasoning was moderately sweet, making it great to eat with rice.
Jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork)
The jeyuk bokkeum came out on a hot cast-iron plate, so we could eat it warm throughout the meal. The meat was cut to a nice thickness, giving it a good chewy texture that paired well with rice.

Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)
The doenjang jjigae was a basic version with tofu and zucchini. The soybean paste flavor was rich, with good depth of umami, and I enjoyed it a lot. A hanjeongsik meal feels incomplete without doenjang jjigae, and it paired well alongside the rice and side dishes.

Grilled mackerel
The mackerel came out as a whole half-fish. It was grilled crisp, so the outside had a nutty, salty flavor I really liked. As always, mackerel really is best eaten with warm rice haha.

Yeoju rice in a stone pot, plus nurungji
And here's the stone-pot rice I was most looking forward to at Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap.

Perhaps because it's cooked in a thick stone pot, the rice grains came out beautifully fluffy and separate. It was also nice to see the steam rising when the lid was opened. Since it's made with Yeoju rice, the rice itself tasted great, and it was delicious topped bit by bit with the various side dishes and main dishes.

After eating a good amount of the rice, we poured water into the stone pot to make nurungji (scorched rice tea). Because the stone pot was so hot, the nurungji turned out really well. After thoroughly enjoying the delicious side dishes and stone-pot rice as the main course, it was nice to finish cleanly with the savory nurungji at the end.

Why Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap pairs well with Yeoju Premium Outlets
I think the best thing about hanjeongsik is being able to eat a bit of many different foods. At Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap, we got to enjoy a really generous meal — from the appetizers to the side dishes, main dishes, and finally the stone-pot rice and nurungji. Everything from the fried eggplant to the bulgogi, jeyuk bokkeum, and mackerel tasted good on its own, which made the meal satisfying overall. I could see why there was quite a wait at Saturday lunchtime.
It's also close to Yeoju Premium Outlets, making it a good place to eat before or after shopping. Being close to Yeoju IC also makes it a convenient stop when you're passing through Yeoju looking for a place to eat. The spacious parking in front and behind also made it easy to visit by car.
With fluffy stone-pot rice made from Yeoju rice and a full table of varied side dishes, this was a great place for a hearty, filling meal. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good restaurant near Yeoju Premium Outlets, or anyone wanting a proper hanjeongsik meal near Yeoju IC haha.
