Suwon café with outdoor seats for a baby-friendly takeout Americano

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters is one of those Suwon Haenggung-dong restaurant-cafés you absolutely have to visit! People even call it the start of Haengridan-gil haha. The weather was so nice that Haenggung-dong was packed, and sure enough, Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters was busy too.

There's no dedicated parking lot for the building, but the nearby Jangan Public Parking Lot is just a 3-minute walk away, which made visiting convenient. On weekends there's likely a wait for parking, and on weekdays it's easier to grab a spot if you come in the morning.

Visiting with a baby? Outdoor seating, since it's a no-kids-zone

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters runs the entire building as a café. I ordered takeout so I didn't get to go upstairs, but this Haenggung-dong restaurant-café is run as a no-kids-zone, sadly.

A little disappointed, I sat at the outdoor seats instead and enjoyed the time with my baby! The coffee is so famous that I really wanted to drink it here haha.

I remembered the coffee being really delicious at Suwon Starfield too, so I made sure to visit Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters on this Haenggung-dong outing! The first floor is run as the roasting zone and isn't for customer use, so ordering happens in the basement.

Haenggung-dong has a lot of little shops, and you can buy goods here too, which made browsing fun. The 5th floor apparently doubles as a rooftop café, so I'd love to come back another day without the baby.

There are Suwon-related goods in the basement, so I thought it'd be a great spot to bring foreign friends too. Number one café to visit if you come to Suwon! Maybe that's why it's the first thing that pops up when you search for Haengridan-gil restaurant-cafés.

An Americano with acidity, and sando for dessert too

They're also selling the currently trendy sando (fruit sandwich) as a dessert, so if you're looking for a Haenggung-dong sando spot, I highly recommend Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters haha. We'd just had a big lunch so we kept it light and ordered only two Americanos! The coffee had a refreshing acidity that made it even more delicious.

They also sell goods, desserts, and coffee beans, so it's not just a place to grab coffee — browsing the goods while ordering downstairs was fun in itself!! After coffee, we also checked out the nearby little shops.

After ordering, the coffee came out pretty quickly. The cup holders at Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters are somehow hip too... On weekends there are quite a lot of people walking around Haenggung-dong with takeout coffee in hand!

Like me, you can also enjoy the café sitting at the outdoor seats. It was nice visiting this Haengridan-gil restaurant-café on a weekday when it felt relaxed and spacious. It had been a while since I visited Haenggung-dong, and it was lively even on a weekday!

Anyone who loves coffee should try Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters at least once. Since they roast in-house, the coffee aroma is on another level... The Americano was so good it almost felt like a shame I only got it as takeout — it cooled me right down on a hot afternoon.

Would I go back? My honest thoughts

Whenever I'm in Suwon and there's a Jeong Ji-young Coffee nearby, I make sure to visit. The coffee quality is that reliable, which makes for a satisfying café!! If you're looking for a Haengridan-gil restaurant-café, I highly recommend Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters~

Since I visited with a baby I didn't get to see the upper floors, but even the stairwells were decorated in a really hip way, great for photos, at this Haenggung-dong café! With the nice weather, Haenggung-dong is bound to get even more crowded. Next time I visit, I'll be heading back to Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters.
