The café in Yeosu that sells fresh avocado smoothies

I ate plenty of good food traveling around Yeosu, but I can never resist a cold drink in between. This time I wanted something a bit special instead of coffee, because... I genuinely love avocado haha.

That's how I found Avocado Yeosu, a place whose name alone won me over. A café in Yeosu selling avocado smoothies? Couldn't just walk past that. If you like avocado, I really think you should try the avocado smoothie here.

What Avocado Yeosu looks like inside

The moment I walked in, the vibe completely shifted.

Exotic café interior decor

I was traveling in Yeosu, but it felt like I'd stepped into a café somewhere in Southeast Asia for a second.

Corner of the shop decorated with avocado props

With the exotic interior and avocado characters and figures scattered everywhere, there was actually a lot of fun in just looking around.

Avocado character figures and decorations

Avocado here, avocado there haha.

Avocado knick-knacks placed around the shop

Being an avocado lover, I got weirdly excited.

Café seating area good for a quick change of pace

Rather than just a Yeosu café where you grab a drink and leave, it had the kind of atmosphere that's nice to hang out in for a bit.

Where to park: Jinnam Sangga public parking lot

One more thing I personally liked was the parking. I remember struggling with parking around this area before, but this time using the Jinnam Sangga public parking lot made the visit much easier.

What we ordered at Avocado Yeosu and what it cost

Today's pick: avocado smoothie + banh mi

What I ordered was the thing I was most curious about — the avocado smoothie (₩7,500) plus the avocado banh mi (₩8,500).

Café menu board listing avocado items

I was excited for the smoothie, but I was also curious how avocado would work in a banh mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwich).

Waiting inside the shop after ordering

A proper avocado party today haha. The owner was really friendly too, so ordering felt good. And while waiting, I noticed something.

A photo booth.

Taking a photo at the in-store photo booth

Out of curiosity I took a picture, and it actually printed out — more fun than I expected haha.

Instant photo stuck on the shop's wall

With the photo stuck up on the wall and all the avocado knick-knacks to look at, the wait went by quickly.

Looking at avocado props while waiting for drinks

Then finally the avocado smoothie and banh mi showed up! Both came packed to go.

So this really is a Yeosu avocado smoothie spot worth knowing

How does the avocado smoothie taste?

It was packed for takeout, but... there was no way I could wait until I got back to my lodging haha. I was too curious about the avocado smoothie, so I took a sip right after picking it up.

Avocado smoothie topped with coconut powder

And my first thought was exactly this: oh... this avocado is really strong. It wasn't just a smoothie with a faint hint of avocado — the rich, creamy flavor was clearly there. The coconut powder on top was nutty and sweet, and it paired really well with the avocado.

A cup of deep green avocado smoothie

What I liked most was that it genuinely felt like 'there's a lot of avocado in here!' A lot of smoothies claim avocado flavor but don't actually deliver it this strongly.

Close-up of smoothie made with fresh avocado

Since it's made with fresh avocado, it felt fresh too, and drinking it almost made me feel healthier haha. This turned out to be exactly the Yeosu avocado smoothie spot I'd been looking for.

The portion was bigger than expected

Drinking the leftover smoothie the next morning

It was so good I kept drinking, and the portion was pretty generous too. So I transferred the leftover smoothie into a tumbler I'd brought, refrigerated it, and tried it again the next morning. I was a little worried the flavor might change after a day, but when I drank it, it was still rich and delicious with no real change.

Drinking it in the morning was surprisingly filling, so I thought the avocado smoothie + banh mi combo would make a good, not-too-heavy breakfast on days when you want to start light while traveling.

And the banh mi that was waiting back at the lodging

The avocado banh mi with beer back at the hotel

I couldn't resist the smoothie and drank it first, but the banh mi made it safely back to my lodging haha. I had it with a beer in the evening, and the pairing turned out better than expected.

Cross-section of banh mi with bulgogi and avocado

It has carrot, radish, avocado, bulgogi, and sauce, and none of the flavors felt out of place — they came together well. The soft, nutty avocado with the savory bulgogi,

Avocado banh mi loaded with vegetables and cilantro

and with the vegetables added on top, it was easy to eat without feeling too heavy.

Cilantro was optional, and being a cilantro fanatic, I obviously added it haha. Avocado banh mi with cilantro on top was exactly my taste. Cilantro's gotten pricey lately too, so seeing it piled on generously made me extra happy.

Avocado banh mi bigger than a palm
But then the size of this banh mi...

Banh mi size and how the bread feels

I thought it looked big the moment I picked it up, and it really was bigger than my palm. I started eating it thinking of it as a beer snack, but by the time I finished one, I was genuinely full haha. It works as a snack, but it's also more than enough for a full meal.

What I especially liked was the bread. Even after being packed and carried to my lodging, the crispy texture held up. The crisp bread held together the soft avocado, bulgogi, and vegetables, so it stayed delicious to the last bite. I only expected the smoothie to be good, but the banh mi delivered too.

A Yeosu café to remember if you love avocado

I went in curious about the avocado smoothie, but the banh mi turned out great too. The smoothie especially had such a strong avocado flavor that it was a total win for my taste.

If you're looking for something a bit different from coffee while traveling in Yeosu, or need something filling, I'd recommend the avocado smoothie + avocado banh mi combo. And I'm already planning to get the smoothie again next time I'm in Yeosu. A smoothie with avocado flavor this strong isn't something you run into that often haha.
