On a Sunday at 6pm, after a day out at the Yeoju outlets, I was craving meat with plenty of smoky char, so I headed to Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2. It's perfectly located for a stop after visiting the Yeoju Premium Outlets or nearby golf courses, with a huge parking lot to boot — here's how our very comfortable meal went.
Where is Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2, and is there parking? 10 minutes from the outlets
Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2 is at 939 Yeojunam-ro, Ganam-eup, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and there's a very large dedicated parking lot right in front, so even new drivers or group visitors won't have any parking stress.

One of the biggest advantages of this place is its excellent accessibility.
- For shoppers: it's exactly a 10-minute drive from Yeoju Premium Outlets, making it a perfect stop to fill up after shopping.

Inside Hwassi2192: the dining room and the staff grilling service
Inside, Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2 has a wood-slat ceiling and a spacious layout, so it's very comfortable without the usual stuffiness or thick smoke of a barbecue restaurant.
Besides the open, airy main hall, there's also a private group room that seats up to 8 people, great for family gatherings or a post-round meal, so you can pick seating that fits your occasion.

Off to one side of the restaurant is a dedicated aging fridge that boosts the flavor of the meat — seeing it really built my confidence in the meat quality.

If you run low on side dishes during the meal, you can freely grab more from the hygienically managed self-serve bar.

It was also fun watching a serving robot deliver food right up to our table.
Best of all, thanks to the staff's tableside 'grilling service,' we could focus entirely on the conversation with Yeoni without worrying about oil splattering — a really relaxed meal.
Hwassi2192 menu, meat origins and what we ordered

Besides the main oak-fired pre-grilled pork, there's a solid lineup of side dishes and a weekday lunch special. There were two of us, so we ordered two servings of oak-fired grilled pork belly, one serving of pork neck, chadol doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew with beef brisket, ₩4,000), and rice (₩2,000).

Tip: 30% off oak-fired pork for takeout
Near the counter there was a sign for a 'special 30% discount on oak-fired takeout items.' You can take pork belly, pork neck, or eel home for 30% less than eating in-store, tasting just as good — perfect for camping or travel if you grab some to go!

What does the name Hwassi 2192 mean?
The restaurant's name, 'Hwassi 2192,' refers to 1,200°C in Celsius. Pork pre-grilled at this high temperature is said to lock in juices and render out excess fat, giving that crispy-outside, juicy-inside texture. The menu also transparently lists the origin of the ingredients.
Side dishes and the 5 combos Hwassi2192 recommends
Once seated, a neat set of basic side dishes arrives to go with the meat: salty myeongi-namul (wild garlic leaves), uniquely folded perilla-leaf and radish wraps, pickled onion, cabbage kimchi good for grilling, raw garlic, lettuce, and clean salt and ssamjang (dipping sauce) for extra flavor.
The menu also details how to enjoy the meat at its best. Since the pork is already lightly seasoned, they recommend trying the first bite without any sauce to taste the meat's natural flavor. (If you prefer fresh wasabi, you can ask staff separately.)
- Combo 1: pork + perilla-leaf radish wrap + shredded scallions
- Combo 2: pork + myeongi-namul + shredded scallions
- Combo 3: pork + kimchi + garlic
- Combo 4: beef brisket + pork neck + salt
- Combo 5: eel + perilla-leaf radish wrap + shredded scallions + ginger
We didn't order eel or beef brisket, so we tried combos 1, 2, and 3!
How do the oak-fired pork belly and pork neck taste?
Thick cuts of pork belly and neck, pre-grilled in a 1,200°C oak-charcoal furnace, arrive neatly plated on a wooden board.
Staff grill it once more on the tabletop grill until nicely browned, perfectly arranging grilled garlic and kimchi on one side of the grill as well.

Once the meat was fully cooked, the surface had a gorgeous crispy coating. Since the fat had already been rendered and juices locked in at high heat, it got nuttier and more savory the more I chewed.
Thanks to the subtle oak-smoke aroma from the pre-grilling process, the first bite was excellent even plain.

First, we tried combo 1 (perilla-leaf radish wrap + shredded scallions) — the sweet-and-tangy radish wrap and fragrant perilla leaf blended with the smoky pork juices for a perfectly balanced bite.

Next, combo 2 (myeongi-namul + shredded scallions) — the salty wild garlic leaves really boosted the meat's savoriness, while the spicy-sweet shredded scallions cut through the richness, making it a addictive combo we kept reaching for.

Finally, combo 3 (kimchi + garlic), with kimchi and garlic browned in pork fat right on the grill, delivered that classic, deep flavor that any Korean would love.
Finishing with chadol doenjang jjigae and rice

After eating our fill of meat, we ordered chadol doenjang jjigae and rice — the essential carb finish for any Korean meal. It arrives bubbling in a stone pot, generously loaded with savory beef brisket, tofu, and enoki mushrooms, giving the broth a rich, deep flavor.
Mixing the glossy white rice into the spicy, savory stew broth was the perfect way to clean the palate after all that meat.

On the way out, near the counter, there were coffee machines and coffee candies thoughtfully set out for a palate cleanser. Since everyone's post-meal coffee preference differs, two machines stand side by side — one for clean drip Americano, and one for sweet instant coffee — a nice touch of consideration. Popping a coffee candy in my mouth and grabbing a sweet cup of coffee on the way out was the perfect finishing touch to the meal.
If you have plans to visit Yeoju Premium Outlets or a nearby golf course, be sure to stop by Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2 for smoky, oak-fired barbecue grilled with care by professionals in a comfortable setting!
