A great-atmosphere date restaurant, Cheongdam izakaya Osa Cheongdam

Today I quietly made my way to "Osa Cheongdam," a Cheongdam izakaya bar I found while looking for a classy, atmospheric spot for a date in Cheongdam.

Interior & atmosphere

From the luxurious entrance to the bar counter, the seating is all set up nicely.

The great-atmosphere, all-season terrace (hall)

This is the terrace (hall) table you can use year-round, no worries about weather or temperature.

It's such an open, airy space that it never feels stuffy, and it's pretty on top of that, so I just melted. Even the weather was gorgeous, so my mood was way up.

As the sun starts to go down, they open the ceiling too — whoa, I'd never seen anything like it, so cool and surprising. That's probably why it's known as a Cheongdam blind-date restaurant, a date and anniversary spot. There really were three couples on blind dates plus family gatherings, birthday parties and all sorts of guests filling the place, the vibe was rich and full.

The luxurious room

I was curious about the Osa Cheongdam rooms too, so I asked a staff member's permission and snapped some photos — (the path of a power blogger is long and hard, haha).

Whoa

Modern hallway leading to the Osa Cheongdam rooms

Even the hallway is full of modern, luxurious style. The rooms are perfect for enjoying a private gathering too. This would be great as a Cheongdam group-meetup spot.

The rooms hold anywhere from 2 to 8 people.

Menu info and corkage

Osa Cheongdam has a wide menu — appetizers, sashimi/sushi, mains, rice dishes, even dessert — whoa, way too much to photograph it all, haha.

Neatly set table at Osa Cheongdam

So neat and tidy

Complimentary otoshi appetizer

Eggplant dish served as complimentary otoshi

The otoshi (small complimentary starter) was an eggplant dish, and you can get a refill once. A slightly tangy sauce that whets the appetite, with crunchy onion and soft eggplant — great combo.

Suntory highball / oolong tea

And then the highball showed up! Among all the drinks, I picked the highball for a simple one to sip. You can choose zero-sugar tonic or soda water, and since the staff said tonic tastes better, I went with tonic!

The oolong tea has a nutty, clean taste

Flounder ceviche

Flounder ceviche topped with herbs and grapefruit

Ceviche, known as an Italian dish! (well, technically Peruvian, but that's what they call it) — the flounder ceviche is finished with apple mint, red onion, grapefruit, various herbs and jalapeño, boosting your appetite big time! Tangy and perfect as an appetizer.

It looked so pretty that pretty much every table seemed to order it.

Soft and tangy, big smile

Raw tuna prosciutto

Raw tuna prosciutto plated

My tuna-loving partner asked for this one, the raw tuna prosciutto.

Close-up of raw tuna prosciutto finished with truffle oil

It's tuna loin and shiso wrapped in prosciutto ham, finished with truffle oil, and there's truffle mayonnaise inside too, so even the aroma was on another level.

If you love truffle, you have to order this. It's the meeting of salty ham and soft raw tuna, so go feel the sweet-and-salty magic (also the shiso scent and flavor were pretty mild, so I think even beginners could handle it).

Shime saba bouzushi

This is the mackerel sushi, shime saba bouzushi. Exactly as the name says, it's mackerel sushi cured in salt and vinegar.

A generous-sized piece of shime saba bouzushi mackerel sushi

The skin is charcoal-touched for a smoky flavor, so it's savory and rich with that charcoal aroma layered on top — really appealing. No fishy smell at all, so it's soft and moist, and it's a big chunk too, which makes it even better. Yum yum yum.

A great-atmosphere Cheongdam restaurant, perfect for a blind date. Every single dish comes out so elegantly that it'd make an anniversary, birthday, or any special day even more beautiful. Spend a happy time with someone you love at this Cheongdam izakaya restaurant.
