Seocho café for New York Levain cookies: Mini Male

I found Mini Male, a dessert spot in Seocho-dong. There are actually two Mini Male cafés near Gyodae Station! Mini Male is a coffee bar that aims for Daily Special Coffee at an affordable premium, and I had already tried another branch—the coffee was nutty and delicious, and I missed the handmade New York cookie (Original Levain), too. Since I was in the Gyodae Station area this time, I decided to stop by.

Getting to Mini Male Seocho Gyodae Branch and parking

It is 156 m from Exit 9 of Gyodae Station. It is down the alley where you turn right at Holly’s Coffee by Exit 9, across from Obongjip! The Gyodae Court Branch is by Exit 6, while the one I visited is the Seocho Gyodae Branch. Coming from Gangnam Station, enter the left alley in front of Gyodae Station Exit 9 on Seocho-daero, then look to your right for the café.

A calm interior that was lovely for taking a break alone

I visited Mini Male Seocho Gyodae Branch alone, and somehow it just made me feel good. The staff were all kind, and I absolutely loved the coffee aroma and the soft, peaceful atmosphere. It may be a little uncomfortable for sitting for a long time to study or work, but it is truly great for chatting or taking a short break.

This is not just a café with good coffee—it is a real cookie gem! There are lots of cookie varieties, and the one I totally recommend is the Handmade New York Cookie, Original Levain. It is so much more delicious than the usual cookie dotted with chocolate chunks that we all know.

Handmade New York Cookie, Original Levain

The Handmade New York Cookie (Original Levain) is ₩4,500. It was so delicious that I grabbed one for my husband, too!!! It is the kind of cookie you keep thinking about once you have had it. This handmade cookie is generously packed with dark chocolate chips and fragrant walnuts, letting you taste the classic New York Levain cookie. One bite tells you all you need to know about the perfect balance of rich chocolate flavor and nutty walnut.

Helsinki Latte with a nutty coffee bean choice

The Helsinki Latte is ₩5,200. I heard it is a signature latte that recreates, with Mini Male’s own recipe, the latte of a lifetime encountered on a trip to Helsinki, Finland. It is one of Mini Male’s signature drinks, with rich milk flavor and wonderfully smooth, non-bitter taste, and I chose the nutty coffee beans. You can choose between nutty beans and acidic beans.

Fruit Strawberry Ade that paired beautifully with the cookie

The Fruit Strawberry Ade is ₩4,800. It is made with refreshing strawberry pulp and Chojung-ri Gwangcheon sparkling water, and it was such a delicious strawberry latte. Its sweetness is exactly 3 out of 5, so it is not overly sweet—I recommend it to people who do not like sweetness, and actually to those who do, too. With a cookie, it was simply perfect.

The Mini Male Seocho Gyodae Branch café I visited this time is personally somewhere I would love to revisit, and I enjoyed everything so much. Please do try the Original Levain handmade New York cookie I had this time at least once!!! And for the latte, have the Helsinki Latte—it is truly nutty and deep in flavor, so enjoy it with a cookie.
