A Uijeongbu drive café for a forest-side break

Forerest, a large café in Uijeongbu, really was a space made for resting, just like its name suggests. I’d seen cafés with forest views before, but this was my first time at a café truly located in the middle of the woods.

First of all, the parking is incredibly spacious! The grounds are huge, and the farther in you go, the more parking spaces there are, so there was no need to worry about parking. It definitely passed the test for anyone looking for a café with parking or an Uijeongbu driving route.

We walked past all the lush trees and grass to the entrance. The stylish interior welcomed us right from the doorway. I hadn’t realized it, but Forerest is pet-friendly. There aren’t many dog-friendly cafés in Uijeongbu, so I think it would be great to bring your pup along.

Ordering Basque cheesecake and coffee

Forerest’s menu 🙌 Forerest is known not only for its healing forest view but also for Basque cheesecake. As you’d expect from a cheesecake specialist, there were lots of choices: original, chocolate, black sesame, matcha, and Earl Grey. After much deliberation, we chose the classic original Basque cheesecake and the chocolate Basque cheesecake. For drinks, we ordered an iced Americano and an iced flat white 🫶

Indoor seating that was great with a baby

Forerest has lovely indoor seating, as well as well-equipped outdoor seats in the forest. The weather was so nice that, if not for the baby, I would have wanted to sit outside and feel the breeze. But our baby has been loving to touch everything lately, and I was worried they might start touching all the plants, so we went indoors.

The interior was beautifully done too, so I really liked being inside. And they had several high chairs ready like this, which made me think we’d done such a good job choosing it for a drive with our baby. High chairs are seriously important when you’re out and about with a baby,,,,,,, 🙃

Original and chocolate Basque cheesecake taste test

Then out came the original Basque cheesecake, chocolate Basque cheesecake, iced Americano, and iced flat white that we’d ordered.

Since they specialize in cheesecake, I was even more excited, and you could see how dense, chewy, and creamy it was. The rich, nutty aroma of cheese made me think they must really pack it with quality ingredients.

My partner and I took turns having a bite of chocolate cheesecake, then a bite of original cheesecake! The original Basque cheesecake was, just as its name suggests, full of cheesy flavor. The chocolate Basque cheesecake had a stronger chocolate aroma than I expected. My partner is a chocolate lover, so they were totally satisfied. I’m not much of a chocolate person, so I enjoyed the original one so, so much haha. Happily sharing them.

Both the iced Americano and iced flat white were good. We shared both drinks too: a sip of flat white when we wanted something sweet, and a sip of Americano when we wanted something refreshing, all while enjoying the cheesecakes.

A short rest with a forest view by the window

Later, a window seat opened up, so we moved over—and isn’t the view so lovely? 🍀 I used to love sitting in cafés and reading, and seeing the people by the window reading their books made me a little envious.

I recommend Forerest Café to anyone who wants to have a “for a rest” moment like the café’s name, anyone planning a drive with a baby like me, or anyone looking for great desserts in Uijeongbu 🌿
