Can you have coffee and bread while looking at Sacheonjin Beach?

Baegya Coffee (백야커피) is a large bakery café overlooking Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung. This was probably my fifth visit. I have come here with my children for bread, and when friends visit from Seoul, I have brought them here for coffee with a sea view.

Is parking and a morning visit convenient?

Baegya Coffee, at 607 Haean-ro, had a large dedicated parking lot, so parking was easy. The interior was also spacious and clean. The hours stated in the original post are 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, with last orders at 8:30 PM. After dropping the children off in the morning, it was a nice place for a light meal of coffee and bread.

What bread was available on a weekday morning?

That day, my husband and I came for a morning date after dropping off the children. We chose an iced Americano, an iced vanilla latte, and two kinds of bread. There was a wide selection, from baguettes and pies to pound cake, and because we arrived not long after opening, the shelves were full. Weekends had been crowded, and I had to choose from the bread that remained, but there were plenty of options on this weekday morning.

There were cakes too, so whenever I visited with the children, we would always choose one together. We often had cakes with fruit or chocolate.

This time, we chose crungji, a crispy croissant snack, and a pepperoni pizza pastry. We ate them with our coffee instead of breakfast.

Is it suitable for children or larger groups?

There is an area on one side of the first floor that works well for groups. When I came with my children, there were four of us; with a friend's family too, there could be six to eight. In those cases, I usually used the first-floor group seating. Each floor had a microwave, water, and a self-service packing station, which made it convenient.

There were also eight-person tables near the window seats facing the sea. Each floor had phone charging and high chairs as well. These amenities were one reason I kept returning with family or friends.

Which seats are best for a sea view?

The second and third floors had a similar atmosphere. Since there were just the two of us that day, we went up to the third floor because we wanted to see the sea from a little higher up.

We sat where we could both face the sea as we ate. Without the children, the two of us could spend a relaxed weekday together. It was crowded on weekends, though. If you want an ocean-view seat on a weekend, I would recommend getting there early.

How were the coffee, crungji, and pizza pastry?

The iced vanilla latte suited my taste because it had a rich vanilla aroma without being overly sweet. It tasted similar to the vanilla bean cold brew I usually like. The Americano was not very acidic. The weather was nice, so I drank it slowly while looking at Sacheonjin Beach.

The crungji was crispy, with buttery richness and sweetness. It was a bread item I had been choosing often lately, so I picked it as soon as I saw it and enjoyed it.

The pepperoni pizza pastry was filling even on its own. Salty pepperoni and cheese went well with the flaky, crisp pastry, and it also had a moist texture. It worked well as a meal replacement. Other breads I had tried on earlier visits also suited my taste.

Can you use the rooftop with children?

The fourth-floor rooftop is a no-kids zone. I have not sat and eaten there yet. The weather was good that day, and I wanted to sit with the open sea in view. Next time, I would like to have coffee on the rooftop too.
