Yongin Korean buffet lunch with free ramen: Daedong Korean Buffet

In short

Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak is a Korean buffet in Yangji-eup, Yongin, Gyeonggi, serving breakfast and lunch. My girlfriend and I ate there for 18,000 won for two adults, with roomy parking, seating, and a menu that changes daily. Verdict: a satisfying, good-value meal with plenty to choose from.

When I was younger, I would sometimes stop by a Korean buffet when I wanted to sort out a cheap meal :) I heard there was a huge Korean buffet in Yongin, so I went with my girlfriend!! This is Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak (대동한식뷔페&도시락), a great spot in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, with a seriously spacious setup and lots of dishes ready to go 😊

Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak: location and visitor information

Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak restaurant information

It is on the first floor at 8 Jubuk-ro 94beon-gil, Yangji-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open daily from 06:00 to 15:00. Last order is at 14:30, and parking is available.

Daedong Korean Buffet banner

One day, we were driving there. The Daedong Korean Buffet banner was visible from way off in the distance. This is when I really started getting excited 🤭 What delicious food could be waiting for us..!! Let’s go!!!!!!

Is there plenty of parking?

Dedicated parking lot in front of the restaurant
Spacious restaurant parking area

You can park in the dedicated lot right in front of the restaurant, and it was incredibly spacious! Even though there were lots of people on the day I visited, there was more than enough parking, haha. No parking worries X!!

Busy restaurant entrance
Daedong Korean Buffet entrance

When we arrived, it was bustling right from the entrance. It seemed like lots of workers visit, and since last orders end early at 14:30, groups also come for breakfast or lunch, haha. We hurried inside to eat too!!

Spacious Korean buffet interior

Once inside, the interior was huge! I could see so much delicious food way over there, so we paid quickly and got right into serving ourselves, haha.

A Korean buffet for ₩9,000 per adult

The price is ₩9,000 per adult, so the two of us paid ₩18,000 and ate! The meal is prepaid, and you need to tell them how many people are in your party :) If you bring your receipt, you can also get 10% off at the café right in front of the restaurant, so keep that in mind!!

There were lots of ledger-like books around the counter, and it really seemed like groups visit often?? Since it is good value and makes for a filling meal, it seems companies come here a lot too 😊

We ate lunch on Monday, September 7!! The menu changes every day, so I think it is fun to see what dishes will be ready that day 🤗 They also take group orders for catering or dosirak (packed meals), so keep that in mind :)

Daily Korean buffet menu information

Finally, time to start serving ourselves with these trays!! They even have cute little children’s trays, haha.

There were so many dishes that the tray was not enough to fit them all, and I wanted to try every single one, so I piled it high!

Besides the main dishes, you can also help yourself to somyeon (thin wheat noodles), honey-filled rice cakes, and vegetables 😋

Drinks and alcohol are available to buy, and ramen is free too, so it was absolutely the best. Now that we had everything, off to our seats!!

Spacious Korean buffet dining area

After taking our food in order, we could immediately find a comfortable seat in the connected dining area and enjoy our meal. The space was unbelievably large, and even though there were quite a lot of people, there was no wait and the restaurant seemed to turn tables very quickly!!

Side-by-side window seats

There were seats like these too, which looked great for solo diners or couples to sit side by side and look out the window while eating! We sat here too, haha.

What we ate for lunch and how it tasted

  • Miyeok-guk (seaweed soup) / janchi-guksu (banquet noodles) / kimchi stir-fried pork / fish cutlet with sauce
  • Spicy king oyster mushroom salad / fusilli corn salad / curry / seasoned seaweed
  • Egg fried rice?? / stir-fried sundae (Korean blood sausage) / fresh young radish kimchi salad

I’ll briefly review only the things I remember eating..! The miyeok-guk had soft, tender seaweed and a light broth, so it was lovely warm with rice. The janchi-guksu paired a clean broth with soft noodles, making it easy to slurp down without feeling heavy.

The kimchi stir-fried pork had pork and kimchi that worked beautifully with the spicy seasoning, making it perfect with rice. The fish cutlet with sauce was crisp outside and tender inside, and it was delicious with the sweet-and-tangy sauce. Mixing rice into the smooth, rich curry made for a familiar but filling meal.

The menu board said kimchi fried rice, but perhaps it had all run out, because a different fried rice came out instead. The rice was nicely separated and evenly seasoned, so it was clean and easy to eat. The chewy sundae had soaked up the spicy seasoning well, and it was even more delicious with rice.

After finishing such a filling meal, we could have sikhye (sweet rice punch) or coffee too! It felt like a refreshing way to settle a full stomach, so even the end of the meal was very good, haha.

Receipt discount café information

Lastly, the café where you can get 10% off with a Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak receipt is Café Kudeta, right in front of the restaurant, so it could be nice to stop by after your meal 😗

With its large scale and wide selection of dishes, I recommend it to anyone who wants to choose from lots of foods and have a filling meal at a reasonable price :)
