Vintage shopping in Yongin: lace finds at TOKYO USED

I usually love looking at vintage clothes and pieces with unusual designs, and I visited the TOKYO USED (도쿄 유즈드) Flagship Store in Yongin to shop for some fall clothes too. The building was huge from the outside, so I was already excited before I even went in.

TOKYO USED Yongin: Store Size and Layout

Once I went in, I found that unlike a typical vintage shop, it was spacious and neatly organized, making it nice to browse slowly. It has first and second floors, with a huge number of racks and such a wide variety of clothes that I realized I would need to set aside plenty of time if I wanted to look properly.

On one side, vintage-style sunglasses and eyeglasses were on display.

I had come expecting only vintage clothes, but there were also all kinds of bags, including Louis Vuitton,

and even jewelry. The necklaces and accessories were neatly displayed by brand, so it felt like browsing a vintage select shop.

There was also a wide selection of Comme des Garçons PLAY and Converse items on one side. With designs and sizes in everything from black to blue, it was fun comparing them one by one. The familiar heart logo was an especially nice touch, so I think anyone who already likes Comme des Garçons would be drawn in.

The first floor also displayed various luxury brands, including Givenchy and Fendi. Sadly, I only looked at the luxury items with my eyes before heading upstairs.

Browsing Women’s Vintage Clothing on the Second Floor

Above all, the second floor had so many types of women’s clothing. There were blouses, knits, cardigans, dresses, skirts, and lace tops in all kinds of styles. It was not just basic clothing either: there were lots of pieces with details that are back in style lately, such as lace, sheer fabric, embroidery, crochet, and puff sleeves, which made browsing really fun.

Blouses and Lace Pieces Found in the ₩20,000 Range

The light blue eyelet blouse had puff sleeves and gathering across the front, so it definitely had a vintage feel, yet it was ₩25,000. You see this kind of design often in new clothing these days, but the vintage character made it feel less ordinary somehow.

The ivory lace garment was pretty too. Different types of lace fabric were joined together like patchwork, so the details stood out more the closer I looked. The price was very kind too: ₩28,000.

Personally, what I found fun about TOKYO USED was that there were quite a few vintage clothes that would not feel awkward to wear now at all. Vintage clothing can sometimes be so retro that it is difficult to wear in real life, but here I saw plenty of pieces that would work just by pairing one with jeans or a long skirt.

Rather than wearing the brown sheer lace top on its own, I thought layering it over a sleeveless top or under a jacket would completely change the mood. The gray-toned lace sleeveless top was also an easy-to-try price at ₩25,000.

There were quite a lot of dresses too, and the one that caught my eye most was a light purple long dress. Its length could be adjusted by tying the straps, and it had a defined waist with a naturally flared silhouette toward the hem, so I thought it would look lovely at a summer resort.

There was also a separate, varied selection of black clothing. Seeing designs that are hard to find in clothes today, like a black blouse with an oversized collar and sheer sleeves, made me think, ah, this is why people seek out vintage shops.

And the fitting rooms were cleaner than I expected. Since there were dedicated fitting rooms, it was nice to be able to check how clothes I liked actually fit.

There were this many other pretty clothes too!

My Overall Take on TOKYO USED

A large vintage shopping space that is fun to browse and fun for finding a great score at the same time!

TOKYO USED was spacious and neatly arranged, making it a fun place to browse at a relaxed pace. As you can see in the photos, there was an impressive variety of women’s clothing, and I especially loved being able to find designs that are hard to see in ordinary shopping malls, from dresses and blouses to vintage pieces with lace and embroidered details.

The most enjoyable part for me was that it felt like a treasure hunt. There were items in the relatively approachable ₩20,000 range too, and as I looked through things one by one, I found clothes in styles I had not expected to like.

TOKYO USED also carries various categories online and updates its items regularly, so anyone who loves vintage fashion might enjoy looking through both the offline store and the website. Personally, rather than visiting with the idea that you absolutely have to buy something, I would recommend allowing plenty of time and browsing slowly.

If you like distinctive vintage designs, are looking for clothes that will not overlap with everyone else’s, or enjoy Japanese vintage fashion, it is worth visiting at least once. Next time, I want to dig through even the racks I did not get to see this time more thoroughly.
