Nowon sushi buffet with tender pork ribs and salmon: Kuu Kuu

Kuu Kuu is my favorite among buffets! This time I visited the Nowon branch. I heard weekend lunch has serious waits, so I went for a late lunch at 2:30—and brought back my review.

Parking and reservations at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch

Parking in the building is free for up to two hours, but you cannot park if it is full. The entrance to the lot is behind the building. On weekends and public holidays, it may be difficult to use because there are so many visitors.

When I went around the back, the lot showed full, so I asked the person standing out front. They had me wait briefly, then let me park after a car left 👍🏻 If it is full, you need to use a nearby paid lot on your own.

Weekend price and time limit

I made a reservation for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. You can book through Naver on the same day too, so if you hate waiting, I recommend reserving first 😉 Weekends are ₩35,900 regardless of lunch or dinner.

• Weekday dinner ₩31,900: listed as exit before 5 p.m. in the original
• Standard dining time is 2 hours, or 1 hour 30 minutes if guests are waiting

💡 Unlimited draft beer. The Nowon branch reportedly has actual Terra and Kelly draft beer rather than Filite. If you leave a review, draft beer normally worth ₩5,900 is unlimited and free, so definitely write a review and enjoy the unlimited beer. I drove, so all I could do was watch 😭

Bright, spacious interior

There is even a waiting zone, and Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch felt bright and clean the moment I walked in!! It was around 2:30 when I entered, so nearly every table was occupied; I took these photos around 4, when it had become a little quieter.

Decorated mainly in natural wood and white tones, it felt comfortable and pleasant overall! Above all, it is more than 300 pyeong in size, so the table spacing felt fairly generous. It looked good for a family gathering or company dinner with a larger group, too.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch can accommodate groups as well: separate spaces for 50, 80, and 300 people can be rented, while rooms can be used for group seating from 40 to 60 people 👍🏻 So it is a great space not only for a regular meal, but also family gatherings, work dinners, group meetups, or events.

Flounder sushi and salmon sushi. Maybe the reason Kuu Kuu is known for good sushi is that these basic pieces are such good quality? They say the fish portions have been made larger than before, so your mouth is absolutely full of flounder and salmon. The salmon was seriously so goodㅠㅜㅜㅠ

FRESH CORNER

The newly launched fresh salmon sashimi is incredible quality. They say it is 100% Norwegian fresh salmon, something even Kuu Kuu Gold branches do not have. It is a weekday dinner, weekend, and public-holiday menu.

The shrimp sushi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch was especially all so delicious. I heard they use botan shrimp, which upgrades the shrimp flavor 👍🏻

Smoked duck and lamb chops have arrived!! The smoked duck, available at weekday dinner and on weekends and holidays, has a satisfyingly chewy texture and amazing flavor. If you come for dinner or on a weekend, definitely try it. Lamb chops are available all day and have no gaminess; they were so popular that they kept disappearing as soon as they were replenished.

I made sure to start with yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) from the salad zone, haha. Pick from the many salad dressings to suit your taste.

BEVERAGE

Lots of different coffees.

Lots of different teas. You can also make a variety of drinks and bingsu (shaved ice dessert).

Dippin' Dots and waffle desserts

Dippin' Dots!!! There are milk chocolate, banana split, strawberry sherbet, and rainbow flavors. It used to be a weekday dinner and weekend item, but they say it was upgraded so you can enjoy it at weekday lunch too. Dippin' Dots that kids and adults both love. I scooped chocolate banana four times alone, haha.

Our style is taking a little of everything, eating it all at leisure, then going back for another helping of what was delicious.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch really is great for sushi and gunkan sushi too. Especially!!

The fresh salmon is insanely delicious. It has just the right bite and is rich and fatty; with onion and sauce too, it is a bring-tears-to-your-eyes flavor ㅜㅜ

The flounder sushi was so good too, and the grilled salmon was delicious.

All the meats here are delicious. The BBQ items are all good, but the pork ribs in particular were not tough at all.

I thought the waffles were something you poured batter into and cooked yourself, but staff cook them periodically and set them beside the station. I toasted mine once more to make it warmer.

I brought apple jam, whipped cream, and every kind of ice cream to eat with it. Lemon and cookies and cream were personally my favorites.

I loved that there was such a variety of fruit, too. There were lots of seasonal fruits and they were sweet; the apples were so sweet, and the mango was thawed just right and so delicious 💕

How was it for a weekend family meal?

I came for weekend lunch, and since there is no price difference between lunch and dinner, it was easy to visit without worrying about the time. There were so many kinds of sushi, from salads to all sorts of other food, and I was personally satisfied because the salmon quality was much better than expected! If you love salmon, I recommend making sure you get some, haha.

And the Dippin' Dots for dessert were seriously delicious 🍦 With waffles and ice cream too, I ate well right through to the end. If you want to enjoy a wide range of food at once for a family gathering or weekend meal in Nowon, this is a good spot!
