Two-tone red-tint hair fix at Juno Hair Gwacheonchungsa in Gwacheon

In short

Juno Hair Gwacheonchungsa Station branch is a hair salon on the 2nd floor of the Starbucks building in front of Exit 11 of Gwacheonchungsa Station in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi. After a hair consultation, the stylist fixed leftover red tones from an old wine-colored dye that had left the hair looking two-toned, applying color in two rounds while serving drinks and snacks during the wait. A café-like space with floor-to-ceiling windows made for a great autumn refresh.

I went to a hair salon for an autumn refresh! Once fall hits, I always get the urge to change up my hair and finally deal with what I've let go all summer. So this time I visited a Gwacheon hair salon to get a proper hair consultation too!

I heard this is the famous place where Jewelry's Lee Ji-hyun goes, so I was curious, but she happened to be off the day I visited. I didn't get to meet her — just caught a glimpse of the plant pot Seo In-young gave her, haha.

A salon with café vibes

The moment I walked in, I was honestly surprised by the vibe 👀 It felt less like a hair salon and more like walking into a pretty café, hahaha. The white and wood tones blended together for a warm yet clean atmosphere, and plants scattered around made the space feel even more relaxing.

I especially loved the big floor-to-ceiling windows showing the outside view — with the sunlight streaming in, the whole place looked even brighter and more relaxed.

The long table and brown chairs were stylish too, and the ceiling had clean lighting plus track lights installed, giving the whole space that trendy feel you see everywhere these days. You sit for a pretty long time while getting your hair done, and in a space this nice, just sitting there felt healing, haha.

From hair consultation to the dye process

What I needed today was a dye job! Booking ahead at a salon is always so much more convenient. After confirming my reservation, my designated stylist came over and carefully asked me exactly what kind of hair I wanted.

Getting a hair consultation

I hadn't kept up with maintenance for a while after my last dye job, so the top and bottom of my hair had turned totally different colors and looked completely two-toned 😱😱 It looked messy in every photo, so I really needed to fix it this time. Since I'd previously dyed it a wine shade, a lot of red tone was still lingering in my hair, and after the consultation we settled on a color that would neutralize the red while evening everything out cleanly.

Before the treatment, she carefully sprayed on scalp protectant, then applied the dye — and then it was waiting time!

Drinks and snacks while waiting

They brought out simple snacks and tea while I waited, and it genuinely felt like sitting in a café, hahaha. There were quite a lot of options too.

  • Americano
  • Tea - rooibos, chamomile, lavender
  • Orange juice
  • Peach iced tea

To naturally blend the roots with the lower section, they didn't finish it all in one go — instead they applied the color in two separate rounds and let it sit each time.

Once everything was done, she washed my hair thoroughly and walked me through shampoo and care tips to keep the color lasting longer after dyeing. Finishing with a blow-dry, and it instantly felt so much cleaner!

Cleaner, more even hair color

Before, my hair looked patchy like two mismatched tones, but after dyeing, the color came together so much more evenly — I loved it, haha.

In fall, even just changing up your hair color can completely shift your whole vibe. After getting such a thorough hair consultation at this Gwacheon salon, I feel like my hair got styled in a direction that really suits me — satisfying all around. They kept the snacks coming until the very end, I got a proper autumn refresh, and I even got some healing time in a pretty space while getting my hair done. Overall, a great day 🤎
