Do you ever play that awkward game of picking a meeting spot in Seoul, haha? Whenever that happens I always end up suggesting Sadang since it's easy to reach from everywhere. Today I'm introducing 'Ui Sadang Branch,' a great-vibe restaurant near Sadang Station that's perfect for a date with a friend or partner.

Ui Sadang Branch is at 41 Dongjak-daero 3-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, 1F, tucked into an alley near Sadang Station. Hours are Mon–Fri 18:00–02:00, Sat 17:00–02:00, and Sun 17:00–23:00, with last order at 01:00 Mon–Sat and 22:00 on Sunday. Walking deeper into the alley near Sadang Station, you'll spot the Ui sign that looks straight out of a picture book. The exterior alone felt so charming, and the lighting was so good I wanted to walk in right away.
The dreamy vibe felt like stepping into a storybook, and I loved it. There are cute picture books and little props all over — so charming, so cute...

We were seated at a two-top table. The place isn't huge! It has a cozy vibe that's great for a quiet chat.

The menu itself is a picture book too, which is such a nerd-bait point for me... So much looked delicious that I spent 30 minutes agonizing over what to order, ugh.
Tomayro, ₩34,000: egg-in-hell tomato stew with linguine
In the end I ordered the very first item on the menu, the tomayro (₩34,000). Adding a baguette costs ₩3,000.
Doesn't the color look so appetizing, haha? The visuals are something else...!!!! Wait just a minute and the deep, rich tomato stew comes to a boil. It's an egg-in-hell style dish with soft egg in a tomato stew base.
Chewy linguine noodles are packed in generously too, making it the perfect dish for a meal-plus-drinking-snack combo!
Compared to regular pasta noodles, linguine soaks up sauce better, which I already love, and here the sauce and noodles clung together beautifully instead of sliding apart — the texture was fantastic. Total highball-craving flavor~~
Those little bean-like things are the basic side snack, kkoedori — you know it, right, haha? Kkoedori comes out as the default side dish!! Mixing it in with a bite of egg and a bite of noodle each time was so good! It's plenty for two people. We were a bit short on time and it was a big portion, so we left some.
Ginger highball and Monkey Shoulder: how they pair with the tomayro
Monkey Shoulder — great news if you're into whisky! They asked if I wanted it neat or on the rocks, so I went with neat, haha. Here's roughly how much you get per glass, for reference~~ It paired wonderfully with the tomayro side dish. Nice for sipping slowly and savoring.
We also ordered a ginger highball. The ginger aroma and refreshing carbonation really come through, haha! It cut through the richness the tomayro stew could otherwise have, super cleanly!!!

They even thoughtfully gave us an apron. The owner and staff were really kind too, so the whole visit felt comfortable. From the careful basic table setting to patiently explaining the menu when I asked question after question, it was a great experience.
