I went to an outdoor patio bar in Gyodong, Daegu! It's a go-to izakaya I keep coming back to for the snacks haha. The indoor vibe is great, but the outdoor patio vibe is even more insane ..🤍 "Gyodong Nakwon"

What kind of bar is Gyodong Nakwon?

Whenever I'm wondering where to go in Gyodong, Daegu, this is the place I end up at every time haha. In weather like this, the outdoor patio vibe here is just insane ..🥹

There's a waiting area set up out front too. Or is it a smoking area ..?🙄 Anyway the chairs are yellow so they're cute haha.

Gyodong Nakwon seating: group meetups on the outdoor patio

The interior✨ There's a bar counter, and 2-seat and 4-seat tables too. With the wood interior and cozy izakaya vibe, it's good for chatting with friends and would also work well as a date bar in Gyodong :) The patio area inside even has group seating, so it looked great for group meetups or company dinners! Actually on the day I visited, there were three group tables haha.

If you're looking for an outdoor patio bar in Gyodong, Daegu, this is the place !! The terrace seats are nice, but there's a real patio spot too ?? It was so pretty I forgot to take a photo.. oops 😂 Anyway, it was the perfect kind of seat for this weather. It just puts you in an extra good mood, all soft and fuzzy inside ㅎㅅㅎ

Gyodong Nakwon menu and what we ordered

The menu board. I've tried all the hot pot dishes — motsunabe (offal hot pot), beef brisket jjamppong hot pot, seafood curry hot pot .. lol. There are barely any snacks left that I haven't tried at this go-to spot of mine🙂↕️ There were also plenty of simple snack options like Napolitan pasta, yakisoba, and fried shrimp haha.

The free starter: shrimp chips

The free side dish is shrimp chips, and they're salty and delicious so I kept reaching for more haha. You could easily finish a whole bottle of beer on these alone~

Our order arrives✨ The table was completely full haha. Eating it out on the patio somehow made it look even better and more appetizing🤤 The plating was pretty too, nice job.

Crab tomalley pasta, ₩16,000

Crab tomalley pasta✨ The dish I order whenever I'm craving pasta!! Loaded with toppings on top, and salty enough to work surprisingly well as a beer snack haha.

It's packed with toppings like crab meat, shrimp, and pinecone-cut squid, so it's fun picking through them haha. Especially love that there are four big shrimp in there ..🦐

Mix the pasta noodles well with the sauce and take a bite~ The rich, savory flavor of the crab tomalley sauce goes really well with the noodles haha. I'm not usually a fan of crab tomalley because of that distinct fishy taste ..? but there wasn't any here, so I enjoyed it a lot !! The kind of taste that keeps you coming back for more~

Cheese & ham katsu✨ My favorite snack menu item at Gyodong Nakwon ..🤍 It's salty so it pairs perfectly with beer ㅠㅠ Great value for the price and it tastes good too !!

Dip it in the sauce and eat~ Personally the sauce tastes like a tangy tonkatsu sauce? and I actually liked it better just eating the ham katsu plain! If you come to Nakwon, you have to order this dish. It's seriously the best beer snack !!! Salty, and the greasiness of the cheddar cheese is a work of art .. Highly recommend this one🥹 It's the dish I always order whenever I come ㅎㅅㅎ

Somaek (soju and beer) on the patio

Soju-beer mix out on the patio hits different~ Getting tipsy off the vibe and the drink both >__<

The snacks were delicious, the vibe was great, and it had been a while since I really went all out on soju-beer mix haha. If you're looking for an outdoor patio bar in Gyodong, Daegu, I recommend this place!! There's group seating too, so group meetups and company dinners are both possible right out on the patio lol😮 If you're looking for a Daegu izakaya with great snacks, I recommend it too!
