This time I visited Super Waxing Gangnam. It's a place that pursues low-pain, low-irritation waxing, and it's known for fast treatment speed and a pleasant space.

Walking from Gangnam Station to Super Waxing Gangnam, and what the shop is like

Super Waxing Gangnam is located near Gangnam Station so it's pretty accessible! The shop had a clean, pleasant atmosphere, so I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in for the treatment.

Waxing is a treatment that needs a private kind of care, so the cleanliness of the space and a comfortable atmosphere really matter. It's also a plus that they're open every day of the year. If you're short on time on weekdays or want care on the weekend, it seemed like a good place to fit your schedule haha.

At Super Waxing Gangnam, they don't start the treatment as soon as you arrive — instead I first filled out a pre-treatment questionnaire. Since this is a process to check skin condition and waxing experience beforehand, it felt like a more meticulous kind of care.

For anyone trying waxing for the first time, or worried about skin irritation, this kind of pre-check process seems especially important! I could comfortably ask about anything I was curious or worried about before the treatment, which helped ease the tension a bit.

How much does the waxing hurt, and how long does it take?

The part I was most anxious about while considering waxing was the pain. Waxing inevitably involves some irritation as hair is removed, but at Super Waxing it felt like they really cared about reducing pain and irritation. I tend to get very tense during waxing, but this time it hurt less than I expected, thankfully ㅠ

Of course pain can vary depending on the area, individual skin condition, and hair thickness, but for people like me who worry about pain, I think it's worth trying after a consultation..! Also, since the treatment speed is on the fast side (it felt like about 15-20 minutes), there was less pressure about lying there for a long time. Longer waxing sessions can make you more tense, but this went by quickly so it felt more comfortable.

And what caught my eye in the treatment room was a big stuffed doll 🧸 Before getting waxed you can feel tense and worried for no reason, but having a cute big doll there made the mood feel much more relaxed. It might seem like a small thing, but these little touches really do help ease the tension.

Ingrown hair care after waxing at Super Waxing Gangnam

After waxing, skin care matters as the hair grows back in. I was especially worried about ingrown hairs, but at Super Waxing they take care of ingrown hair management too, not just the waxing itself, which I really loved 😆 Since skin can be sensitive after waxing, it seems important to follow the aftercare instructions properly and focus on moisturizing and reducing irritation suited to your skin condition ✔️

What I was most satisfied with after getting waxed at Super Waxing Gangnam this time was that the pain burden was less than I expected. A treatment that pursues low pain and low irritation, fast pacing, a pleasant space, and everything from the pre-treatment questionnaire to ingrown hair care!
