His hair had gotten long all over, so the front bangs were coming down heavy and stuffy, and the sides were starting to flare out.

While looking for a clean, easy-to-manage men's hairstyle, I visited TONI&GUY Daechi, a hair salon near Hanti Station in Daechi-dong.
This time I'll introduce the story of getting a gaille cut and side down perm from designer Nayoon.
Where is TONI&GUY Daechi and how do you walk there from Hanti Station?

TONI&GUY Daechi is on the 6th floor of a building at 9 Seolleung-ro 64-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Hanti Station, so it was convenient to reach by public transit.
Valet parking and the atmosphere inside TONI&GUY Daechi

If you're driving, valet parking is available on the building's 1st floor. The valet fee is ₩3,000.
The interior was bright and clean, and the seats had plenty of space between them so it never felt cramped.

Even the waiting area was well organized, giving the whole place a comfortable vibe.

Everything was neatly arranged, and the staff were friendly.

- Trial run) from 9/1, opens 1 hour earlier on weekdays at 9am

This is the seating area where you wait — the interior is so nice haha. The lighting is pretty for photos while sitting.

Some people were even working on their laptops while waiting. It's also the spot to eat the snacks they give you!

This is the shampoo room haha. The windows are big and bright, giving it an even cleaner feel.

Ahyunchae and the other hair clinic treatments on the menu
One side of TONI&GUY Daechi had premium Ahn Yun Chae clinic products neatly displayed.

It gave me the sense that this is a place that carefully manages shampoo and hair care products.

It felt like a place that's truly serious about hair clinics and healthy hair.

The drinks they gave while waiting also came in a good variety and good quality.

Before the service, I could also pick a drink. There was a separate drink menu listing coffee, tea, and more, so I could sip comfortably while waiting.
Designer Nayoon's consultation: why she recommended a gaille cut

Before the actual service, they photographed the state of the hair. The front and top were coming down heavy while the sides were slightly flared, making the overall silhouette look stuffy.
Designer Nayoon first carefully asked how he usually styles his hair and what kind of look he wanted.

Rather than simply cutting it short, she looked at his face shape and the natural direction of his existing hair, then recommended a gaille cut that would let the bangs sweep naturally to one side.
For the sides, we decided to also do a down perm to tame the flared areas. After the consultation, we sat in the salon chair and sorted out the overall length and weight.

How the gaille cut and side down perm were done, step by step
She cut with great attention to detail, keeping the natural feel unique to a gaille cut while making sure one side of the fringe swept over cleanly.
Next she applied the down perm solution to the sides and carefully pressed the hair so it would sit naturally against the head.

With a down perm, if the sides sit too flat it can actually look unnatural — but she shaped it to fit the head naturally, so I was already looking forward to the result before it was even finished.

To keep things from getting boring while waiting, they brought snacks, and there was even a cube to play with. It's a salon that shows thoughtful care in many ways haha.

After the down perm processing time was up, we moved to the shampoo room. She rinsed thoroughly so no solution was left behind, and checked in on the water temperature and any discomfort along the way, which made it feel comfortable.

After the shampoo, once the blow-dry and styling were done, the whole vibe was completely different from the start.
What changed after the gaille cut and side down perm
The bangs that used to fall heavy now swept naturally to one side, revealing the forehead just enough to look far more refreshed and polished.
The sides were also tamed neatly by the down perm, bringing out a much cleaner overall head shape and jawline.

The salon also had photos on display from designer Nayoon's debut event. Having experienced the service myself, the consultation, cut, down perm, and finishing style were all handled with such care that I could comfortably leave my hair in her hands.
If you're looking for a men's hair salon in Daechi-dong or near Hanti Station, or you're dealing with flyaway sides and heavy bangs, I'd recommend the gaille cut and down perm from designer Nayoon at TONI&GUY Daechi :)
