Since Brazilian waxing involves such a sensitive area, I tend to weigh pain level, hygiene, and staff experience carefully when choosing a shop. This time I picked a place with easy access from Gangnam Station that also markets itself as low-pain, low-irritation waxing. Let me introduce it~

Where is Super Waxing Gangnam, and how do you book?

Super Waxing Gangnam is on the 3rd floor of a building near the main street by Gangnam Station Exit 11, about 3 minutes from the station. Gangnam Station itself is always crowded with maze-like alleys, but this place wasn't hard to find. If it's your first visit, I'd suggest arriving with a little extra time before your reservation.

Waxing here runs by reservation, so if you want a specific time slot, they recommend booking 2–3 days ahead rather than same-day. Same-day booking is possible, but your preferred time might already be taken.

Walking into the shop, it clearly felt like a dedicated waxing salon. This Gangnam waxing salon offers not just Brazilian waxing but couple waxing, face waxing, body waxing, and even waxing for body profile shoots. What stood out was that they don't just remove hair — they focus on tailoring care to each person's skin type and condition, which felt reassuring for anyone trying Brazilian waxing for the first time, since everything starts with a consultation.

Hygiene at Super Waxing Gangnam and the shower room

Super Waxing Gangnam uses a no-double-dip method, using each spatula only once, and they say they sanitize with disinfectant used in operating rooms. Hygiene is naturally a big concern at any waxing salon, and I could tell they take it seriously here.

There's also a shower facility available before and after the Brazilian wax, which was convenient. On top of that, this Gangnam waxing salon has staff holding nursing assistant certification and skin-related qualifications, with veteran waxers who've been doing this for years. The director and staff reportedly have over 10 years of experience in beauty, and it definitely showed.

Consultation, ingrown hair and pigmentation care

Before the Brazilian wax started, I changed into a skirt and went through a consultation checking my skin condition and waxing history. Since the skin in that area is thin and sensitive, checking skin condition first — rather than just removing hair — really matters.

Lycon wax, how much it hurts, and the real 20 minutes

Now for what I was most curious about — the Brazilian wax itself. Since waxing pulls out hair, it can't be entirely painless, but this salon says they continuously research techniques to reduce pain.

They use an upgraded product from the Pinkini Premium line by Lycon wax. Lycon is an Australian wax brand dating back to 1978, made with pure beeswax and botanical oils as a high-end wax. It's used in spas and salons around the world, so I could tell they put real thought into the products used during waxing.

The actual treatment went faster than expected. I was told this salon's Brazilian wax normally breaks down into about 10–15 minutes for the waxing itself, about 10 minutes for ingrown hair removal or folliculitis/sebum extraction if needed, and about 10 minutes for final soothing and recovery care — roughly 30 minutes total — but for me it took about 20 minutes. Rather than rushing through, they seemed to carefully check my skin condition and address what was needed throughout.

Since it's such a sensitive area, having them check in on my skin moment to moment made me realize how much difference an experienced waxer really makes.

September event: belly waxing and soothing hydration

And it wasn't over yet! As part of the September-only event, writing a Naver review got me underarm waxing plus soothing hydration, extending into care for the irritated skin. Skin can get temporarily sensitive after a Brazilian wax, so finishing with a soothing treatment made the whole experience much more comfortable.

This Gangnam waxing salon doesn't stop at just removing hair — they focus on detailed care tailored to skin type, and after trying it myself, I could see why they emphasize being low-irritation and low-pain. First-timers to Brazilian waxing tend to feel nervous and worried about pain, so being able to trust an experienced professional felt like a real advantage.

After it was all done, they also walked me through aftercare precautions and recommended their own product line, which I appreciated.
