Chuncheon anniversary tuna course with sushi and albap: Maguro Tuna
In short
Maguro Tuna is a tuna course restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building on Boan-gil in Hupyeong-dong, Chuncheon, Gangwon. For an anniversary dinner, the ₩53,000-per-person "Jin" course brought swordfish, bigeye tuna and bluefin tuna cut by cut, eaten wrapped in seaweed the way the owner explained, then sushi and a closing meal of soba and albap (rice with fish roe). The tuna was good, but the sushi and albap were the parts worth coming back for.

I was trying to figure out where to eat for a special anniversary, and this time I wanted somewhere with a bit more atmosphere! That's how I ended up at Maguro Tuna!! ❤️❤️ If you're looking for a place in Chuncheon to properly enjoy raw fish or tuna, you've probably heard of this one already. After visiting, I could tell the clean, relaxed vibe and the course format make it a great spot for anniversaries, dates, or family gatherings.
Usually I go for casual Chuncheon raw fish bars, but for the anniversary I wanted something a bit more special, so I picked Maguro Tuna, known as a Hupyeong-dong go-to spot. From the tuna to the rest of the dishes, everything came out as a course, and it was fun the whole meal >.< ❤️❤️ Let me walk through the visit!

Where is Maguro Tuna in Chuncheon, and is there parking?
The address is 65 Boan-gil, 3rd floor, Unit 306, Chuncheon, Gangwon. It can be a little confusing to find the first time — head up to the 3rd floor of the building across from Hupyeong-dong The Sharp apartments, then go toward the back and you'll find Maguro Tuna.

What comes with the ₩53,000 "Jin" tuna course?
Even the basic table setting was clean and nicely done! We went with the ₩53,000 per person 'Jin' menu. ❤️ Bottom line — if it's a special occasion / a day you need a pick-me-up / or just a day you want tuna ~.~, head to Maguro Tuna in Chuncheon!!!! We really tried tuna cut by cut, all the side dishes came out well too, and we left promising to come back again. Completely satisfied!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Swordfish, bigeye tuna and bluefin tuna, cut by cut
Our 'Jin' course came with >>>swordfish, bigeye tuna, and bluefin tuna<<< served in various cuts, so it was fun tasting each type! For two of us who love tuna, it was just the right amount. Spending an anniversary relaxing over good tuna and a drink was such a good time — I still think about it. ❤️❤️ I'll have to go back again soon >.<!! ❤️

How the owner at Maguro Tuna says to eat the tuna
What I loved most was that the owner walked us through exactly how to eat the tuna for the best flavor! I tried it his way, and it was way better than just eating it plain!! Thanks to that, I really got to enjoy the tuna properly. ❤️ The food was really satisfying, and the owner was so kind too — even more satisfying overall!!!!! If you love tuna, you have to go to Maguro Tuna! You really won't regret it!

The sushi served mid-course was the highlight
The tuna was really delicious, but the sushi that came alongside it was even better than I expected and really stuck with me 🍣 The combination of rice and tuna was so good, it reminded me of sushi I had in Japan — I was genuinely surprised ㅜㅡㅜ Such a moving flavor ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ ❤️❤️❤️❤️ It just melts in your mouth ㅠㅠ ❤️ Getting good sushi on top of good tuna made the whole meal that much more satisfying ☺️

Tuna really tastes best eaten piece by piece, wrapped up like this 🥹❤️❤️ Sometimes wrapped in seaweed, sometimes with the side dishes! The flavor changes a bit depending on how you eat it, so we mixed and matched and ate it up happily! 🐟🍶 I kept reaching for more even while taking photos ㅋ.ㅋ

Side dishes served alongside the tuna
It wasn't just tuna — side dishes came out with it too, and every single one was delicious ☺️ Eating other dishes in between the tuna kept things from getting repetitive and made everything taste even better! You could feel the care put into every single dish the moment you tasted it — all the research I did beforehand really paid off. 🐟❤️

It was the last plate, so I felt a little sad and ate each piece slowly to savor it 🥹🐟 I think I was in awe the whole time I was eating, it was that good ㅋ.ㅋ I took my time with the very last piece and finished up feeling completely satisfied. ❤️

A special anniversary ❤️ such a satisfying evening ❤️ at Maguro Tuna in Chuncheon ❤️❤️

Finishing the course with soba and albap
The last course was soba and albap 🍜🍚 The soba was great, and the albap was seriously the best of all!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Eating it all up to the end left me feeling like I might burst ㅎ, but eating so well was such a satisfying way to end the evening. 🐟🍶
If you're ever craving good tuna for a special anniversary, definitely give Maguro Tuna a try. ❤️
