Cozy Japanese-style wood interior

What comes with the ₩30,900 lunch-special sashimi platter

The lunch-special sashimi platter, which checks both value and variety, is ₩30,900. This was the lunch-special menu I ordered at Moshi Moshi PNU Branch, and the moment the full table setting arrived, I could not help being impressed by how packed it looked.

It comes with 8 pieces of sushi, 8 pieces of sashimi, 3 pieces of tempura, udon, vegetable salad, and tofu salad.

Sushi, fresh sashimi, and abalone

First, the sushi rice was seasoned just right, and the neta (sushi topping) on top was fresh, so it was delicious. I especially loved the thick salmon sushi.

And it did not stop there: eight pieces of sashimi came alongside it, including not only fresh raw fish but also nourishing abalone, which made it fun to pick and choose.

The separate sashimi was great dipped in soy sauce to enjoy its pleasing chew, or with a little wasabi and eaten in one bite—it filled my mouth with rich flavor, haha.

Beyond the sushi, I loved being able to enjoy sashimi’s distinctive tender, springy texture and even abalone. It felt like a restorative meal. The salmon sashimi was, needless to say, thick and practically melted in my mouth, haha.

The standout among standouts: tofu salad

If I had to pick the most memorable dish from this meal, it would absolutely be the tofu salad. It was an unusual menu item that you do not easily find at typical Japanese restaurants or raw-fish restaurants. The dressing had a deeply tangy yet nutty flavor, and it was truly one of a kind.

It was so good that I refilled it twice all by myself. If you visit Moshi Moshi for lunch near Busan National University, I strongly recommend trying this tofu salad.

Warm udon and crisp tempura

The warm udon, perfect alongside the main dishes, had a rich broth and bouncy noodles that filled me up nicely.

The three pieces of tempura arrived crisply fried too, with substantial ingredients including shrimp and a crunch that held up beautifully through the end of the meal.
