Ocean-view brunch in Suyeong, Busan: Working Holiday Minrak
In short
Working Holiday Minrak is a brunch café in Suyeong, Busan, with wide views of Gwangalli Beach and Gwangan Bridge. I tried the gently spicy fresh-pasta fricassee and salmon eggs Benedict, then looked around its sofas, terrace, and large tables. Verdict: Working Holiday Minrak is a great all-round pick for views, a meal, work, or a get-together.

Looking for a Gwangalli ocean-view spot filled with that sea air? I went to Working Holiday Minrak (워킹홀리데이 민락), a Minrak-dong place where you can enjoy delicious brunch, pizza, and pasta all at once in a seriously atmospheric setting! It was already famous as a Gwangalli brunch café, but after visiting, I found it was also a Minrak-dong pizza spot with insanely crisp-outside, chewy-inside dough—and it does deeply flavorful Gwangalli pasta perfectly too!

Location, parking, and hours
It is on the 7th floor of the Badamaru Building at the very end of the Minrak sashimi-center street. Use the underground parking lot behind the building. It is open daily from 09:00 to 22:30, with last orders at 22:00.

A spacious dining room with an ocean view
I liked that the open kitchen seemed to be managed so transparently. Small plates, straws, and more are displayed by the open kitchen, so you can help yourself.

There was a wine refrigerator and a display cabinet for wine, champagne, and more at the entrance.

You can help yourself to individual small plates, water (lemon water), cups, straws, and so on. The plates were a little heavier than I expected, so be careful!

Wine glasses were lined up neatly. It looks like the place operates as a pub in the evening.

It is also a nice place to relax on the sofas and chat comfortably.

The owner seems to put effort into lots of different areas, including winning a gold prize at a coffee festival.

There are plenty of large tables, so it is suitable for group gatherings too.

Working Holiday Minrak is also suitable for small get-togethers.

Stylish interior accessories catch your eye throughout. It feels like they paid a lot of attention to the details.

I think this is the best spot for the Gwangalli view at Working Holiday Minrak in Minrak-dong. You can see it so clearly! When I went, the prime seat was open haha, so I claimed it immediately. There were lots of comfortable sofas as well as regular tables.

The sky was blue and the sea was blue, and you could clearly see the sunlight glittering on it and the waves rolling in haha. The terrace view is no joke either. In early to mid-September, I think it would be comfortable to eat brunch on the terrace because it is less hot, and there was a lovely cool breeze. I took in the terrace view after eating too.

I tried the fricassee and salmon eggs Benedict
An overwhelming Gwangalli view, wide open before you! This is the best—Working Holiday Minrak in Minrak-dong, famous for its Gwangan Bridge view. It was one of my favorite places on my Busan trip. The food was delicious, but the Gwangalli ocean-view atmosphere was the best part.

They use fresh pasta made in-house. The pasta was nicely chewy and a little spicy. The staff told me it might be slightly spicy, and when I tried it, it was less spicy than expected—definitely manageable. The meat and mushrooms were well balanced, and the creamy sauce was delicious! The touch of spice seemed to cut through the richness nicely. It is a place that gets both the atmosphere and flavor right, so I do not think you need to worry.
The salmon eggs Benedict had soft-cooked eggs that popped and flowed when I cut them with a knife. The salmon was fresh raw salmon, with no fishiness, and it was delicious. You can choose sourdough or a croissant, so I paid an extra ₩1,000 for the croissant. It was crisp and nutty when torn apart and eaten.

The joy of eating while looking at the sea...! I loved it so much!

It is excellent for a Gwangalli date, with a great atmosphere, and the Gwangalli ocean view is considerably better than at other restaurants nearby.

The eggs Benedict looked gorgeous, and the salmon-and-egg combination was unusual, but I liked it. For some people, it might be a tiiiny bit rich, though. The egg was very softly cooked, almost raw, so choose carefully!

The fricassee had impressively wide, chewy noodles. The green leaves on top are Italian spinach arugula, which I love! Hahaha.

A place for work, dates, and gatherings
Having brunch while looking at the Gwangalli view was so nice. Two women felt quite full after two main dishes. It is also good for a Gwangalli date course: I saw quite a few couples around, as well as people having a cup of coffee. I also saw lots of gatherings tasting different kinds of pizza. Since the space is large, it seems comfortable to come work on a laptop without feeling self-conscious, and there were outlets throughout.
- People wanting to study alone, work on a laptop, and relax.
- People looking for a Gwangalli ocean-view restaurant.
- People looking for Minrak-dong pizza and Gwangalli pasta.
- People who want a date with coffee and dessert, or a glass of champagne.
- People who want a group gathering in a spacious, comfortable setting.
The Gwangalli branch and Minrak branch are separate!
