Yangju Japanese restaurant for pork jowl oil pasta: Choi Dining
In short
Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong is a Japanese and pasta restaurant on the 2nd floor of Bujaro Tower in Okjeong, Yangju, Gyeonggi. A family of three ordered salmon futomaki (thick sushi roll) at 13,900 won, unagi katsudon at 17,500 won and pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta at 14,000 won, sharing everything for 45,400 won, and the pork jowl oil pasta was the best dish of the meal. Each futomaki slice is too big to eat in one bite, so Choi Dining works well as an Okjeong lunch spot for sharing.

I went to Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong, well known as a go-to restaurant in Yangju Okjeong. The salmon futomaki (seaweed rice roll) turned out to be way bigger than I expected, and surprisingly, the dish I enjoyed most was the jangjeong myeongi oil pasta. It's a Japanese restaurant with a nice atmosphere too, good for dates and for sharing — a solid Okjeong find. 🍝
Where is Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong, and is there parking?
Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong is at 74 Okjeongdong-ro 7da-gil, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, 2nd floor, Room 203, Bujaro Tower.

It's on the 2nd floor of the building, so you find it by going inside and heading up.

It's not right in front of a subway station, so if you're taking public transit, it's easier to take a bus from Deokjeong Station or Deokgye Station. I visited with my family that day. If you're driving, the building has underground parking, so it's fine to come by car too. 🚗 We went at lunchtime and didn't have to wait long that day.

That said, waiting time can vary depending on the day and time, so I can't give an exact number of minutes. If you're going around lunchtime, it might be good to give yourself a little extra time.

The inside is fairly clean.

So if you're looking for an Okjeong lunch spot to visit with people who have different tastes, this seemed like a good pick. The location is Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong, 2nd floor of Bujaro Tower in Okjeong-dong, Yangju. 😊
What three of us ordered at Choi Dining, and what it cost

There were three of us, so we each picked a different dish and ordered three total.
- Salmon futomaki ₩13,900
- Unagi katsudon ₩17,500
- Jangjeong myeongi oil pasta ₩14,000
- Total ₩45,400

With three people ordering three dishes, it was perfect for trying a bit of everything and sharing.

My mom likes rice dishes and I like pasta and futomaki, so we could each pick what suited our taste. Looking at the menu, besides salmon futomaki there were quite a lot of options — bone-in tonkatsu, dontoro-don, unagi katsudon, mazesoba, yakisoba, and several kinds of pasta. So on a first visit, you might be a little torn about what to order.

Unagi katsudon, 17,500 won
My mom wanted eel, so we ordered the unagi katsudon — turned out to be a pretty filling dish too!

It's a dish that combines eel and katsu, so it felt a bit different from a typical pork cutlet rice bowl, and my mom, who likes rice dishes, enjoyed it. If you're looking for tonkatsu (pork cutlet) in Okjeong, the Choi bone-in tonkatsu might also be worth ordering.

If several of you are visiting like we did, ordering one tonkatsu, one futomaki, and one pasta to share seems like a good approach. I didn't get to try the tonkatsu this time, which was a little disappointing haha. Next time I visit, I want to try the Choi bone-in tonkatsu too.
How big is the 5-piece salmon futomaki at Choi Dining?

The first thing that caught my eye when the salmon futomaki arrived was the size 🫢 The menu says 5pcs for ₩13,900, but seeing it in person, each piece was pretty huge. I thought it looked big in photos, but it was even bigger in person haha.

I love futomaki so I tried to eat it in one bite, but it was way too big, so we ended up sharing it. Haha. The salmon was so savory and delicious 🥹 My mom, my sibling, and I each tried a piece and shared the rest, and with the other dishes too, the amount was plenty.
Best of all, it looked great in photos because of the size — fun for taking pictures too haha.

If you like salmon, this is worth ordering. Especially if you're looking for a Japanese menu at a Yangju Okjeong restaurant and want futomaki, it's big and great for sharing with several people.
The best dish: pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta, 14,000 won

The dish I enjoyed most that day was the jangjeong myeongi oil pasta! It costs ₩14,000, and the menu describes it as an oil pasta with jangjeong (pork jowl) and a tangy myeongi (wild garlic) pesto.

With the savory flavor characteristic of oil pasta, plus the jangjeong and the added myeongi pesto, it tasted a bit different from a typical oil pasta. So if you're visiting Choi Dining while looking for a good Yangju restaurant, I'd recommend the jangjeong myeongi oil pasta!
That day, my mom, my sibling, and I had a great lunch, sharing this and that, eating comfortably together. If you're looking for a place to have family lunch in Okjeong, check out Choi Dining's menu.
