The site is huge, with a wide lawn and landscaped trees perfect for kids to run around, and yet there's also a no-kids zone for a quiet, private date for adults only — plus the desserts are big, reasonably priced, and generous in portion, so I visited Moonbird, a large café in Yangju, feeling satisfied all around~

I had a really delicious time eating the sweet-tart fresh mangosteen shaved ice, piled high with a huge amount of fresh mangosteen, and resting comfortably — it was such a healing café. Let's check it out in the review~!

Is parking easy at Moonbird?

Moonbird has a large parking lot fully set up right next to the café site, so even on a weekend I could park easily and head straight into the café~ I'd say that's one virtue a large café should have~

These days when you go to suburban large cafés, a lot of them claim to have 'ample parking' but ㅠㅜ the parking area is nowhere near enough for the size of the café, so instead of healing you end up dealing with a parking battle ㅠㅜ...

The lawn garden and outdoor seats

After parking and walking toward Moonbird, the first thing I saw was kids running around on the wide lawn. There were several parasols and tables too, so on a cool autumn day it'd be nice to enjoy coffee and snacks outside~ Plus, cars are completely banned from entering, so it's a safe and fun environment for kids to run around in~

Right next to it, I saw the beautiful red-brick exterior of today's large café in Yangju, Moonbird~

No-kids zone and kids-care zone: how the hall is divided

Walking into Moonbird's hall, I really liked the clear signage stating that only a no-kids zone and a kids-care zone exist, nothing in between. Even in the kids-care zone, I could feel the parents' consideration for others, keeping things relatively quiet, so I got to have a really pleasant healing time~

There were also various seats spread out along the window, and since the building is so big, there was plenty of room~

It's even been featured in a food guide, and you can order affordably with the morning set or all-day set~

With the spacious layout, high ceilings, and plenty of window-side seats, I could enjoy a healing time looking out at the scenery from a cool, airy interior~

In the spacious kids-care zone, you can watch over the kids while having a fun time~

In the comfortable no-kids zone, adults can have a quiet, reflective time — it was a large café where two kinds of enjoyment coexist~

Moonbird's menu, cakes and breads

Besides its various coffees and drinks, Moonbird's snow-flake milk shaved ice made with seasonal fruit is also a signature menu item unique to the café~

There were also so many other cakes and breads with great quality for the price, and they really made my mouth water~

How did the fresh mangosteen snowflake bingsu (28.8) taste?

Today's order was Moonbird's fresh mangosteen shaved ice, 28.8. I'd been craving something sweet and tart like mangosteen, and there it was — fresh mangosteen shaved ice! Order complete~!

It really had a generous amount of fresh mangosteen piled on top, and the look of it — so different from frozen mangosteen — won me over instantly~

Because it was fresh mangosteen, biting into it gave that lovely melt-in-your-mouth flesh texture, and the snow-flake ice melting on my tongue like snowflakes added its own nutty, pleasant joy~

They even prettily peeled the fresh mangosteen into halves so it was easy to pick up and eat — I took a big bite, nyam~

Mixing in the fresh mangosteen bit by bit, the coconut flesh and lime zest blended together beautifully, so I could enjoy the milk shaved ice sweet and tangy right down to the last spoonful. It was delicious, thank you for the meal~!

I visited Moonbird, a large dessert café in Yangju~ I loved the spacious grounds and the variety of seating, and enjoying fresh fruit shaved ice at a large café where a lawn for kids to run around, a kids-care zone, and a quiet no-kids zone for adults all coexist made for a truly healing time.
