Japanese restaurant in Geumjeong, Busan: A-course lunch, Moshi Moshi

An A Course lunch date near Pusan National University

My partner and I went for a course meal in front of Pusan National University at lunchtime today~ It was Moshi Moshi PNU Branch (모시모시 부산대점), and this place has been around for more than 15 years. They support one hour of parking in the building, so we drove there! *_*

There was a photo menu board out front~ It was nice to be able to check the prices and what came with everything! Haha. There are lots of other dishes besides the ones shown here—and wow, the prices look pretty reasonable at a glance, right? o.o

The hours are 11:00–21:30. Apparently there is no break time on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays, hehe.

We went around opening time, so there were no customers yet and I could take photos of the interior, haha. The wooden interior was unusual~ It felt warm and cozy! Haha, I love this kind of atmosphere!

Since we booked through Naver and visited, they had saved us a table by the window like this~

The PNU Branch opened in February 2012, the Gwangbok Branch in December 2019, and the Dongnae Branch in May 2023. Fifteen years for the PNU Branch is really a long time, right? Hehe. If you leave a Naver receipt review, you get two pieces of shrimp sushi free—join in, haha.

Ordering the A Course and checking the menu

The menu has so much variety: sets, courses, sushi, table sets, individual sushi, individual dishes, kids' sets, and sashimi and noodle dishes. Their signature dish is a sushi table set~ They also have kids' sets, so I thought it would be nice for families too, haha. They have high chairs as well~ We ordered the A Course for two, haha.

First, a salad to whet our appetites arrived! It was crunchy and refreshing—just right, haha.

This was soft tofu, and I was curious what the sauce was, o.o Even Hakko Teacher, who does not usually eat tofu, thought it was delicious!

From sashimi and sushi to grilled salmon

Then the sashimi came out~ You can tell it is fresh just by looking at it, right? +_+ Salmon, tuna, soy-marinated shrimp, and sashimi... I do not know what kind of fish that last one was, haha.

The whole spread was set, so let's dig in >,< The colors are so pretty. Oh, miso soup came with it too, though it is not in the photo! It was seasoned just right, haha.

Both the salmon and tuna were fresh! The salmon just melted in my mouth—now I want to eat it again while writing this post, lol.

Since it was daytime, we clinked glasses with cider instead of alcohol! Haha. While we were eating the sashimi, the sushi arrived too~ There were six pieces, and every single one was delicious! I heard the chef learned authentic techniques firsthand in Japan~ That explains it~

And this! The grilled salmon came out too, hehe. The sauce was a little sweet and salty~ It made me want to eat it with rice, haha. It was delicious and seasoned just right.

Tender chashu and crispy tempura

The next dish was chashu~

I put some onion, bean sprouts, and a piece of ginger on top of the chashu and yum! The chashu was so tender that I thought their ramen would be delicious too! Haha. Oh, they sell ramen here too +_+

Then freshly fried tempura came out~ Shrimp, kabocha squash, and eggplant tempura. So crispy!

And we finished with cool naengmyeon-style soba (chilled buckwheat noodles)! *_* It was great for ending the meal neatly, haha.

When we paid and headed out, I saw they even had peppermint candies like this, hehe.

The owner was kind, and all the food was delicious. After eating there, I could see why they have stayed in one place for so long~ Next time, I want to come back and try a different dish. It is good value too, so give it a try if you are visiting Pusan National University, haha.
