My fourth visit to this Busan Station pork soup spot

I went back to my favorite pork soup place near Busan Station, Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap! This makes my fourth visit already if I include the newly opened Busan Station branch,, and apparently Gwangalli and Haeundae branches are opening soon too. For anyone traveling in Busan, take note! Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is popping up at all of Busan’s key tourist spots.

As you can see, after the remodel the place became super spacious and comfortable ✨️ Even though I visited on a weekday, it was crowded, so these interior photos are ones I took before.. There can be a wait during peak hours, but tables turn over quickly, so it’s worth waiting!

They have high chairs too, so families, keep that in mind! 👶

Ordering two suyuk baekban sets

order Two suyuk baekban (boiled pork and rice sets)! You can order and pay entirely at the table kiosk. They sell milmyeon (wheat noodles) and dwaeji gukbap, but neither my boyfriend nor I are big milmyeon fans, so we always just eat pork soup! Takeout is available too, though steamed rice is separate with takeout.

True to K-fast-food form, getting seated, ordering, and having the side dishes set out all happened at once 👍🏻 Since we ordered suyuk baekban, wrap vegetables came with it too. They were so green and incredibly fresh.

I recommend the basic pork soup for a first visit

Maybe because we ordered suyuk baekban, the table was completely full. At some point I started having it because of my boyfriend, but Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap’s regular pork soup is seriously delicious too! Personally, if it’s your first visit, I recommend the regular pork soup. The amount of meat and extras is on another level 👍🏻

Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap’s broth is right in between milky-white and clear. Personally, I’m more of a milky-broth person than a clear-broth person. The milky broth seems to have a richer flavor!

Seasoning it with saeujeot, without the spicy paste

And when you order, you can ask for it without dadaegi (spicy seasoning paste)! A customizable order for anyone who can’t handle spice 🌶 I like mine without dadaegi, seasoned only with saeujeot (salted shrimp). If there’s perilla seed powder, I add lots of that too.

Why I keep ordering suyuk baekban

Why I started eating suyuk baekban at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap,, the generous portion, thick slices, and that glistening sheen. Plenty of places charge ₩2,000–3,000 more than regular pork soup yet give you only paper-thin meat, but this place is always generous, which I love.

So glossy ✨️ It isn’t just loaded with fat—the ratio of lean meat to fat is just right! It’s so good dipped in a little soy sauce.

The wrap vegetables are so fresh. I make wraps with dried radish in them. There are three kinds of kimchi—kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), napa cabbage kimchi, and dried radish—and the dried radish is the best! I got a refill of just the dried radish once more 👍🏻

How can you resist the combination of white rice, suyuk, and napa cabbage kimchi? 🤦🏻♀️ Looking at the photos makes me want it again. As the weather starts to turn chilly, my pork-soup cooldown runs out so fast. I’m planning to go eat it again soon!
