Right from the entrance you'll see signatures from countless celebrities on display, and once you step inside, the interior isn't your typical naengmyeon shop vibe — the classic, tidy decor really stands out.

Even visiting during an early weekend evening, the place was packed with both locals and visitors. My family ends up coming back to Song Giwon every single time we're in Jinju.

The undisputed star of Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon's menu is the 'mix naengmyeon' (섞음냉면)! If you're a first-timer, don't overthink it — just order the mix naengmyeon.

And here's one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back — the hot broth! You grab it yourself at the self-serve corner, and the savory depth from rich beef and seafood broth is what sets this place apart from other naengmyeon shops. Sip it before the noodles arrive and it's incredible. From the moment you drink the hot broth, your anticipation for the noodles shoots way up.

Basic side dishes include a tidy radish kimchi and regular kimchi — cleanly made kimchi that really shines when eaten with the yukjeon.

The mix naengmyeon (₩14,000) is essentially Song Giwon's signature dish. I was surprised at how fast it came out right after ordering. It's a dish that brings together the strengths of both water naengmyeon and spicy bibim naengmyeon.

It comes generously topped with yukjeon, radish kimchi, pear, and a special sauce. The sauce looks red but isn't overly spicy — it's a refreshing, sweet-spicy kind of delicious heat.

The noodles are made from Jeju buckwheat, so they have a springy, chewy texture that really comes through. Take a bite of the cool, spicy naengmyeon and follow it with a sip of the warm hot broth — the combination is perfect!

The yukjeon (₩25,000) is a great side dish to enjoy alongside the naengmyeon! It comes out freshly fried and hot, and eating it right away is pure art.

It arrives as one large slab, so just cut it into bite-sized pieces. The combination of thin, nutty-fried beef and the moist egg coating fills your mouth with savory flavor.

Dip the yukjeon into the restaurant's special sauce and it cuts right through what could otherwise feel a bit rich. Wrap it up with the cool mix naengmyeon and you'll taste an even more luxurious flavor.
