Perilla cream pasta brunch in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon: Someday Romance

I saw an exotic-looking brunch café in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon and fell in love with it instantly, so I took my mom there. Someday Romance, the rooftop brunch spot everyone raves about in Dunsan-dong!

My mom loves pasta and pizza but had only ever had them delivered, so I'd been looking for a pretty brunch café for her. This place was a total win!

Isn't the food and the vibe just insane? This isn't a café, it's basically a resort haha^^

Someday Romance is a large rooftop brunch space taking up the entire 6th floor of Save Zone, so it's spacious from the get-go, and best of all, parking was easy, which made driving there much less of a hassle.

The Save Zone rooftop: why it feels like a Southeast Asian resort

The moment I stepped off the elevator, what caught my eye was an artificial fountain and an exotic outdoor space. I never expected such a gorgeous spot to be hidden on top of an outlet mall right in the middle of the city...

Green plants and palm tree décor are scattered everywhere, along with a trickling artificial fountain, making it feel just like a Southeast Asian resort.

There's lighting installed all over too, so it probably has that exotic resort feel by day and a whole different mood once the sun goes down~~

The dome-shaped outdoor table area is the best part! Inside the transparent dome are rattan-style chairs and tables, and with the canopy and surrounding plants blending together, it felt like a resort tucked in a forest. Having a private meal in this space on a nice day would be really lovely.

What is the indoor seating like at Someday Romance?

The indoor space is also full of that exotic vibe. Big tropical plants line the entrance, and with a wooden deck walkway and a small waterway running through the middle, it felt like traveling through a forest.

The tables come in all kinds of pretty styles, so it's a space that suits dates, families with kids, or group gatherings equally well. The halogen lights hanging from the ceiling especially added a warm, cozy feel.

What we ordered with mom, and what it cost

We ordered ricotta cheese salad pizza, tuumba pasta, perilla seed cream pasta, and a mango smoothie. I was so surprised that a luxurious space like this had such reasonable prices — almost all in the low-to-mid ₩10,000s!

As the dishes came out one by one, I was surprised again by how huge the portions were haha. And once I tasted them, I was even more amazed — we ate until we were absolutely stuffed.

Ricotta cheese salad pizza

The first thing that caught my eye was the ricotta cheese salad pizza! With salad piled high on top of the pizza, it looked delicious right away haha. Combine salad and pizza with ricotta cheese and balsamic sauce, and it's absolutely amazing!

The tanginess of the balsamic blends with the soft, subtle sweetness of the ricotta cheese so it's never greasy. My mom said it was delicious and ate it up happily, which made this daughter very pleased^^

Perilla seed cream pasta

The perilla seed cream pasta was the dish both mom and I were most curious about! The perilla scent came through quite strongly, and the soft cream sauce was nutty and rich.

We also tried spreading the perilla cream sauce on the bread that came with it, and it was a real treat. If you love that perilla flavor, this pasta will be extremely satisfying.

Mango smoothie and Tuumba pasta

The mango smoothie, a must since my mom loves it! She always orders it whenever we go to a café because she loves mango, and it was sweet and cool, so of course she enjoyed it^^

The tuumba pasta was spicy, which cut through the richness of the cream sauce, so switching back and forth between the two dishes was a great combo. Most of all, seeing my mom enjoy her food made me happy too 😊

Parking: 3 hours free at Save Zone

They even give you 3 whole hours of free parking. You could enjoy a leisurely meal and then go shopping at Save Zone afterward.

It was such a happy time — enjoying a delicious brunch with my mom, taking photos in a beautiful space, chatting, and just spending a relaxed afternoon together.
