Korean lunch set restaurant near Hapjeong Station: Deogiwa Hapjeong
In short
Deogiwa Hapjeong is a fusion Korean restaurant between Hongik Univ. Station and Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul, serving home-style rice-and-side-dish lunch sets by day and turning into a Korean drinking spot at night. On a weekday visit at around 11:30am, three friends ordered the jeyuk ssambap set (spicy stir-fried pork with wrap vegetables), the beef bulgogi set and the Deogiwa baekban set with stir-fried pork added, and the heaped bowls of rice and the braised burdock root side dish stood out. Deogiwa Hapjeong works just as well for a filling weekday lunch as for evening drinks.

I had some errands near Hapjeong Station and came with a friend, and since it was around lunchtime, we happened to stumble on this place famous for its outdoor terrace dining — Deogiwa Hapjeong!
Inside Deogiwa Hapjeong: 1st floor, 2nd floor and terrace
Let me introduce the interior of Deogiwa Hapjeong, well known for its terrace seating

There are three spaces total you can use — 1st floor, 2nd floor, and terrace!
First, the 1st floor has a variety of spaces~

True to its reputation as a terrace-dining spot, there's a terrace where you can eat while catching the cool autumn breeze 🍂🍁
Inside on the 1st floor there's one 6-seat table and seven 4-seat tables~🧐
And heading up to the 2nd floor,

there was this gorgeous traditional vintage old-wood pottery interior — it was really something!🫣✨
There's more seating available on the 2nd floor too~🧐 (they even have a private room!)
Lunch specials by day, drinking menu by night
What is on the lunch special menu?

Deogiwa Hapjeong offers a really wide range of great-value lunch menus 👍🏻
And there's another special thing about Deogiwa Hapjeong! It's exactly this~~~~~
What is on the evening drinking menu?

In the evening it transforms into a Korean fusion drinking spot where you can enjoy a variety of Korean-style anju (drinking snacks)!😙
I was surprised at how many drink options they had — everything from beer to soju, highballs, traditional liquor, and whisky! I came for lunch this time, but next time I'm definitely visiting in the evening!~🙂🙃
Three lunch sets we ordered on a weekday

That day I visited Deogiwa Hapjeong, famous for its terrace dining, for lunch with friends nearby, and we ordered the jeyuk ssambap set + beef bulgogi set + Deogiwa house set (+ added stir-fried pork)! (We visited around 11:30am on a weekday and office workers kept streaming in! You might have to wait, so check Catch Table availability before joining the line!)
Jeyuk ssambap set (spicy stir-fried pork with wrap vegetables)

I ordered the jeyuk ssambap and the moment I saw it, my mouth was watering..🤤 I wrapped it up and took a bite right away.. and it tasted just like home cooking.. so delicious..!

And the rice portion was seriously mountain-high, I could really feel the owner's generosity🥹💛
Beef bulgogi set

My friend ordered the beef bulgogi set and said the bulgogi was tender and well-seasoned, really delicious! So I tried a bite too, and honestly the beef bulgogi was just as tasty as the stir-fried pork 👍🏻
Deogiwa baekban (rice with side dishes)

A classic baekban (home-style set meal) set.. and the kicker was that braised burdock root — personally, it was salty-savory with real umami 👍🏻 Every single side dish was a rice thief😭

Meeting up with friends, we started off happy, delicious, and full!-!🙂💛
Who should visit Deogiwa Hapjeong, and when
For lunch you can enjoy set meals and other lunch menus, and in the evening it transforms into a Korean drinking spot serving a variety of fusion Korean dishes — I highly recommend Deogiwa Hapjeong, famous for its terrace dining! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
