Got home from work on a weekday evening and just couldn't be bothered to cook, but also had no idea what to eat 😂 So I looked up good places near home and ended up at Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae in Neung-dong, Hwaseong.

The inside vibe
The dining room wasn't huge, but table turnover seemed quick, so customers kept streaming in.
From solo menus to couple menus
Looking at the menu, there were options for solo diners as well as couples, so it was easy to order based on our headcount.

Beyond the banchan they brought us, there was a self-serve bar with even more sides like bean sprouts and green onion kimchi.
Finally, the duruchigi (stir-fried spicy pork) we ordered arrived.
The second I saw it, all I could think was: this calls for soju. But since I'd been drinking all weekend, I had to play it cool this time 🤣
And the soy sauce bulgogi we picked as our side also came out.
Mixing rice with duruchigi sauce in a bowl
We put rice in the bowl they gave us, piled on plenty of duruchigi sauce, and mixed it all up. Adding seaweed flakes and sesame oil made it absolutely delicious.
The soy sauce bulgogi had a sweetish soy glaze that our little one clearly loved — gave him rice with the bulgogi and he polished off a whole bowl, haha.
A lettuce wrap with a thick slice of meat. Piling meat on top of rice made a bowl of rice disappear in no time!
How was it as a dinner for a family of three?
The duruchigi was tasty, and being able to have soy sauce bulgogi alongside it meant our whole family enjoyed a satisfying dinner together. What stuck with me most was mixing rice in a bowl with duruchigi sauce and topping it with a thick slice of meat.
With menus ranging from solo to couple sets, it's easy to order according to your group size, and it worked well for our family of three to grab a meal. A good place to check out when you want an easy family dinner near home.
