I was trying to figure out what to eat for lunch near Yadang Station and got a craving for pho, so I headed to Drunken Thai Unjeong Yadang Branch 🙌🏻 Whenever I want pho near Yadang Station, Drunken Thai is one of the first places that comes to mind — it's known as a favorite around Unjeong Lake Park, and there seemed to be a ton of delivery orders going out at lunchtime too!

That real Thai vibe, at Drunken Thai Unjeong Yadang Branch
I travel to Southeast Asia pretty often, but lately I've mostly been going to Vietnam, so it's been a while since Bangkok or Pattaya — I've only made it to Phuket recently — and sometimes I miss that distinct Thai atmosphere. Visiting Drunken Thai, a Thai restaurant in Unjeong, gave me a strong dose of that feeling, and I loved it 🌴

What's on the menu at Drunken Thai?

Thai-style beef pho is the base of the menu, alongside pad thai, coffee, fried rice, morning glory, and a range of other Thai dishes — it's a place that gets recommended a lot for lunch near Yadang Station! It looked like a young owner was running the place, and their quick, hardworking, friendly attitude made it feel warmer every time I visited 🙌🏻 Even on a weekday, the delivery notifications kept coming and delivery riders kept dropping by, which somehow made it feel even more Thai. I think I need to take a Thailand trip soon, haha.

What we ordered that day
- Beef pho
- Pad thai
- Spring rolls
- Thod mun goong
Here's everything we ordered. This pho near Yadang Station is genuinely delicious, so a lot of people come here for lunch, but the turnover is fast and the food came out quickly! As Drunken Thai has become known as a favorite around Unjeong Lake Park, lunch actually feels busier than dinner somehow! Eating well at Drunken Thai Unjeong Yadang Branch and then taking a stroll through Unjeong Lake Park right in front makes for a perfect date course — great for couples, and also a nice spot to visit with kids!

Beef pho, ₩11,500 — how is it different from Vietnamese pho?
Drunken Thai beef pho ₩11,500

Vietnamese pho vs. Thai pho — not all Southeast Asian rice noodle soups taste the same! The broth flavor is quite different between the two, and honestly I can't pick a favorite 😭 they're both so good, what can you do... What I do know is that when I'm craving a really rich, deep broth, it's Thai-style pho I think of, not Vietnamese. It's definitely noticeably richer than the Vietnamese version. Even the color of Drunken Thai's pho is different ✨

It's also a great delivery menu item! There are so many pho places around Unjeong, and they basically split into Vietnamese-style and Thai-style, so it made me think — if you're craving something light and clear, go Vietnamese; if you want a rich broth, go Thai. You could order based on your mood for the day, haha. This bowl at Drunken Thai, a favorite for pho near Yadang Station, is loaded with crunchy bean sprouts, soft rice noodles, and generous chunks of beef, all swimming in that rich broth.

Drunken Thai's pho is definitely a dish that's hard not to love. And those big chunks of beef! They're not dry or tough at all — really tender, so you can just pull them apart with chopsticks. Take crunchy bean sprouts, noodles, and torn beef on your plate, slurp it all up in one bite, and it just bursts in your mouth!!!!✨💘 Finished the whole bowl in no time.
Seafood pad thai, ₩14,000

Next up: Drunken Thai's pad thai. You can choose chicken, shrimp, or seafood for the pad thai, and we went with seafood. Rice noodles give such a different feel between soup and stir-fry — soft and delicate in broth, and chewy in that satisfying way once they're stir-fried.

As you'd expect from a proper Thai restaurant, this might be the best pad thai in Unjeong, Paju. That sweet-and-sour pad thai sauce flavor comes through just right, and the sauce coats the noodles, vegetables, and seafood so well that I couldn't put my chopsticks down until the plate was clean-! Next up is my absolute favorite of the day 🐷
My favorite: thod mun goong (shrimp croquette), half order, ₩4,000
Thod mun goong (shrimp croquette), half order — ₩4,000 Spring rolls, half order — ₩4,000

If you're looking for great pad thai near Yadang Station, it's Drunken Thai. And what pairs perfectly with pad thai? Thod mun goong!!!! Drunken Thai's shrimp croquettes are delicious ✨✨ You can order spring rolls and thod mun goong as a half or a full portion — we went with half thinking we'd be full, but the thod mun goong was so good we ended up ordering another plate (so really we ate a full portion in the end).

Oh, this was my pick of the day. The batter isn't too thick, so the outside is super crispy-! and the inside stays moist with two whole shrimp tucked in ✔️ Genuinely so, so good. I wish Drunken Thai sold these in bulk — I'd buy a big batch, freeze them, and air-fry them whenever I wanted, haha 😳

So, how was lunch near Yadang Station?
