Paju bar for yukhoe mulhoe and beef sashimi: Yukhoe Maltuout

In short

Yukhoe Maltuout Paju Yadang Branch is a Korean bar near Yadang Station in Paju, Gyeonggi, serving fresh domestic Korean beef yukhoe and beef sashimi. I tried the value set with yukhoe mulhoe for 66,000 won and loved the generous spread and pretty plating. Verdict: choose a varied menu combination so the raw-beef dishes do not become repetitive.

Signature dishes at Yukhoe Maltuout Paju Yadang Branch

Why have I been so tired lately—and hungry again the second I turn around? Do you get affected by the seasons too, like me?!! It is supposed to be the season when horses fatten up, but why am I the one gaining weight instead of the horse? Haha 🐴🐷

I figured my constant tiredness and hunger were my body sending an urgent signal to feed it some proper nourishing food! So this time, I settled on fresh raw beef, the ultimate energy-boosting meal!

I immediately started searching like crazy for a well-reviewed yukhoe and beef sashimi specialist among Paju restaurants and places near Yadang Station. After hunting with my eyes wide open for somewhere truly good, I ended up at Yukhoe Maltuout Paju Yadang Branch, which is apparently super hot among Yadang bars for its food!

I am the type who goes absolutely wild for mungtigi (thick-cut raw beef), beef sashimi, and yukhoe, so my expectations were sky-high. They say this place uses only fresh, never-frozen domestic Korean beef from female cattle. When I saw it in person, the marbling and vivid red color were just beautiful—maybe because it was so freshly butchered!

Today’s piggy pick! We changed the beef ramen in Value Set No. 1 (yukhoe + beef sashimi + beef ramen = ₩58,000) to yukhoe mulhoe (raw beef in chilled broth), adding ₩8,000. So: yukhoe + beef sashimi + yukhoe mulhoe = ₩66,000, plus one bottle of Saero (₩5,000).

Value set with yukhoe and beef sashimi

✨ For the value set, they select the freshest cut available that day.

✨ A little honest tip: if you are having either the beef ramen or the yukhoe mulhoe, I recommend changing the other items to something different! Because it became yukhoe + yukhoe + yukhoe, and it did get a tiny bit repetitive. The spicy soup dish was clearly the owner’s thoughtful intention, but this piggy got distracted by the yukhoe mulhoe and made a foolish choice haha. I hope you make a wise menu choice!! 🙊

A table spread that even includes raw liver and cheonyeop

The table spread was amazing from the start! Not long after ordering, a neat full spread arrived. There was beef-and-vegetable porridge, salad, seasoned minari (water parsley), and warm beef radish soup—just right for settling the stomach before the mains.

And the amazing part is that fresh cheonyeop (beef third stomach) and raw liver, prepared in-house every day, come as complimentary sides! They may be available depending on that day’s slaughter and ingredient supply. I cannot eat raw liver, so the younger sibling who came with me—a raw-liver killer—tried it. Dipped lightly in sesame oil and salt, they said it was crisp and nutty, with the freshness coming through completely. Haha

The plating of the beef sashimi and yukhoe

Finally, the mains arrived... and I gasped the moment I saw the plating because it was so pretty! The two of us took hundreds of photos like professional photographers—standing up, shooting from diagonals, total chaos haha. But the visuals were that good, right? Haha

The vivid-red beef sashimi and yukhoe came beautifully arranged on the plate. The portions were generous too, and the value for the price was honestly wild. ❤️

How did we eat the shank beef sashimi?

The beef sashimi (shank, ₩32,000 à la carte) was not tough at all; it was tender from the very first bite. With pear, radish sprouts, cheese, and the house special sauce, it simply melted in my mouth. It is low in fat and high in protein too, so surely it will not make me gain weight?!

And what a thoughtful touch—they even stamped a heart shape onto the cheese haha. The heart was so cute! The cheese was also divided into little pieces, making it incredibly easy to place one on each bite!!

The savory depth of seasoned yukhoe

The yukhoe (beef, ₩32,000 à la carte) was seasoned with a nutty dressing that soaked in without being too much, giving it a different kind of savory depth from the sashimi!! It is already fully seasoned, so eating it with radish sprouts and pear is ridiculously delicious.

The cool, spicy yukhoe mulhoe was my top pick

Cool and gently spicy yukhoe mulhoe (₩15,000 à la carte). Switching from ramen to this with the price difference was the best choice! The big bowl was piled generously with crisp vegetables, yukhoe, egg garnish, and crushed seaweed. My piggy top pick of the three dishes.

Mix the sweet-and-tangy, chilled broth well, then take a big bite—it is the ultimate combination when you need a little refresh after the beef sashimi. Its clean flavor lingers beautifully, and it is amazing as a drinking snack too. No wonder this place is known in Yadang for great bar food.

The value was incredible, and every dish was plated so beautifully that it was a feast for both the eyes and the mouth. My photos looked like dishes from an upscale Korean course-meal restaurant—and they truly looked that way in person too!! I felt like I had arrived at Grandma’s 70th-birthday banquet ♥ Since they honestly stick to fresh Korean beef from female cattle, I trusted them even more!

It would be such a great place when you want to enjoy delicious bar food with a drink. I recommend it to anyone looking for a yukhoe specialist in Unjeong, or wanting to properly enjoy yukhoe near Yadang Station. Oh, and they also offer takeout and delivery. Even while we were eating, delivery and takeout orders kept going out... such a popular spot!
