Hongdae group dinner at a chicken feet restaurant: Cheongnyeon 1987

In short

Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 Hongdae Branch is a soup chicken feet (dakbal) bar on Donggyo-ro near Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul. The group ordered two servings of tulip soup chicken feet at spice level 1 and added buntang (sweet potato glass noodle) and Chinese vermicelli noodle sides, then filled the table with corn cheese, steamed egg, tuna rice balls, pork belly, shrimp tempura and one more serving of chicken feet. With that many sides and noodle add-ons beyond the chicken feet, Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 is an easy Hongdae spot for a group with different tastes.

Visiting Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 Hongdae Branch

I was looking for somewhere in Hongdae to eat well and chat comfortably with friends after a while, so I went to Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 Hongdae Branch :)

When a group of chicken feet lovers gets together, there's really nothing quite like dakbal (chicken feet) haha. This place especially has such a varied menu that it's great for a group to visit and order a bunch of different things!

What kind of place is Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 Hongdae Branch?

There are already so many good restaurants and so many people around Hongdae... but Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 Hongdae Branch is a spot where you can have chicken feet as the main dish while also pairing it with a variety of sides, which makes it a decent option for a Hongdae group meetup 👍🏻

What the group ordered: two servings of tulip soup chicken feet with buntang

We started off ordering two servings of tulip soup chicken feet! On top of that we added buntang (sweet potato glass noodle), which I love, plus corn cheese, steamed egg, tuna rice balls, and Sprite as sides!

How spicy is spice level 1 at Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987?

Soup chicken feet are extra fun when you add noodle sides to soak up the broth haha. We chose spice level 1 for our chicken feet🔥 and personally, it felt like a good middle ground between people who can't handle spice and people who love it!!

And eating just chicken feet the whole time can get a little too spicy~ ordering corn cheese and steamed egg alongside was really the right call✅ Take a bite of spicy chicken feet, then a bite of corn cheese, then calm it down with some steamed egg — the combo was really good haha.

Adding pork belly and shrimp tempura mid-meal

We had already ordered quite generously from the start... but the more we ate, the greedier we got lol. So in the end we added one more serving of chicken feet, plus Chinese vermicelli, pork belly, and shrimp tempura😁

Scooping up the broth and adding buntang or Chinese vermicelli was so good — the spicy broth flavor soaked right into the noodles😋 It's not just about the chicken feet! Being able to eat so many different dishes together makes this a great spot for matching everyone's tastes when visiting in a group~!

Is Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 a good Hongdae spot for a group?

Especially if you're meeting friends in Hongdae for a drink or dinner with a group, this kind of menu setup seems pretty solid haha! We also started out planning to simply eat chicken feet, but ended up adding things one by one... and in the end our table was completely full 😂

Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 Hongdae Branch seems like a great fit not just for chicken feet lovers, but for anyone who wants to eat a variety of dishes alongside the dakbal⭐️ And when meeting up with friends or acquaintances in Hongdae, a place with lots of sides and extra menu options is so much more comfortable than a spot that only serves one dish~!

If you're craving spicy chicken feet in Hongdae and looking for somewhere to share a generous spread with friends, I recommend Cheongnyeon Dakbal 1987 Hongdae Branch :)
