I was in Mullae after a while and got a craving for okonomiyaki grilled on the teppan, so I checked out Jojo Mullae Branch! I had no idea the Jojo chain, famous around Seongsu and Sungshin Women's University, had opened a branch in Mullae too — turns out it's a fresh, newly opened spot! There's usually a decent wait, but booking ahead through Naver Reservation got me in right away with no waiting at all~!

The open kitchen and why it works for a date
Walking inside, you're greeted by an open kitchen and a warm, atmospheric interior! It's cozy overall with great vibes, so it seemed like a lot of couples come here for dates too haha
Jojo Mullae Branch menu: why the two-person set is the best value
The menu is full of Japanese dishes — okonomiyaki, yakisoba, monjayaki, fried rice, and more. You can order à la carte, but ordering a set comes with a discount and better value, so if you want to try a variety, I'd recommend going for a set! The drink menu is diverse too, from Suntory and Hanmaek draft beer to highballs, sawa, and ades — and there was an adorably small 200ml draft beer called 'Sneaky Suntory' that was just too cute haha 🍺

We went with the signature 2-person set! It's a combo of Jojo okonomiyaki + Jojo yakisoba + donpeyaki.
Each table comes neatly equipped with a teppan and sauces, and pickled radish for cleansing your palate is set out by default — great for picking at between bites!
Jojo signature okonomiyaki (17,000 won)
The signature okonomiyaki, packed generously with shrimp, squid, beef, and pork! It takes about 15 minutes from start of cooking to finish.
When the timer goes off, the staff flip it twice — front and back — and brush on the sauce themselves!
They piled on a generous amount of bonito flakes too~!
One last flip and a final coat of sauce, and it comes out looking like a work of art~! Even though it's thick, it was cooked evenly moist all the way through — the umami was insane ㅠㅠ
I went with a friend who says she doesn't usually like okonomiyaki, and she said it was so good and cleaned her plate (isn't that basically liking it, lol 🤣). If the seasoning felt a bit light, drizzling on a little extra sauce from the table made it even more delicious~!
Hanmaek draft beer, 420ml (5,000 won)
The combo of salty, savory teppan food with a cold draft beer is seriously the best~!!!
Donpeyaki, pork and egg on the hot plate (9,000 won)
'Don (pork) + pe (flat) + yaki (grilled)' — a Japanese-style pork belly egg roll! I'd never had Japanese-style egg roll before; it's soft on the outside with a moist, yukjeon (pan-fried meat)-like texture inside, savory and just perfect as a beer snack!
Jojo yakisoba (14,000 won)
Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) fried in a special sauce, loaded with shrimp, squid, pork, and cabbage toppings — the texture was so satisfying to chew!
The chewy noodles are fully soaked in seasoning, salty and umami-packed ㅠㅠ Pop the egg yolk on top and dip the noodles in it, and the beer just goes down smooth 🍺❤️
