Today I went for a walk near Gyeongbokgung Station and wanted a good brunch, so I stopped by Respire Bakery Cafe Seochon, right near the station! Just looking at photos of the menu had me really excited before I even got there.

Respire Bakery Cafe Seochon is about a 13-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gyeongbokgung Station (Line 3). Hours are listed as Sun-Mon 8:30 - 10:00.

The lot in front of the store is the Cheong Wa Dae Yeonmugwan parking lot, reserved for presidential security staff, so you can't park there. The Singyo public parking lot is ₩3,000 per hour, and the resident-priority parking spaces in front of the store can be used after booking through the Modu Parking app.

The exterior and the second-floor seats with a tile-roof view

The exterior of Respire Bakery Cafe Seochon felt so pretty, very European. Even the outside made for gorgeous photos — great for that perfect profile shot.

The weather was cool and pleasant, so the owner had the windows open, which added even more to the atmosphere! With the breeze flowing in and the sunlight coming in beautifully, the interior looked even prettier.

This interior is on the second floor, where there's plenty of seating, and the seats by the window are especially pretty. Looking out at the tiled roofs while enjoying brunch and coffee — absolutely the best.

All the little decor touches match the interior so well that you can just snap photos randomly and they still come out pretty,, perfect shot achieved.

So many cute things!!

The counter also had great vibes — like a European-style brunch café,, absolutely gorgeous.

Bread sold out by 1-2pm: what time should you go?

Respire Bakery Cafe Seochon has an incredible variety of breads, not just brunch items. The person ahead of me was buying bread too! Even though I visited around 1-2pm, a lot of breads were already sold out. The bread is really that popular! If you want to try a wide variety of breads, I'd recommend visiting a bit earlier than lunchtime.

There's also a self-serve water corner. Pets are welcome too — there's even a pet-only trash bin, so it seems like a great spot to bring your dog.

How the omelette sandwich and basil jambon sandwich tasted

Ta-da. My order arrived. The dishes came out together and already looked beautiful and delicious. The coffee smelled rich too, and best of all, they refilled it once it got low, which was really nice,,

The omelette sandwich had sweet honey drizzled inside, so I could dip the fluffy, soft egg into it, and it was so delicious. It came with figs too, so I got to enjoy seasonal fruit — I was so happy!

Next, the basil jambon sandwich 🥪 If you love basil pesto, you'll definitely like this one, and the jambon ham was seasoned just right. The bread was crispy and chewy, so delicious even eaten on its own. The potato chips that came with it made for pretty photos too, and they had great texture — very satisfying.

Personally, when I look for cafés in Seochon, it's not just about a pretty space — I care about menu variety and whether it's comfortable to stay a while. Respire stood out for its wide range of baked goods.
