Room 402 ocean view with sunrise at Anmok Beach, Gangneung: Your Anmok

I love the sea~ Spent the first half of this year mostly in Yangyang, so second half is Gangneung!

This was planned purely as a rest trip, so when picking a stay, I wanted

a sea view would be nice
being close to the beach would be nice
parking, of course
and it'd be great to sit near the stay with a camping chair and zone out~

That's what I wanted! And I found a stay that hit 100% of my wishlist,,! It even had good restaurants and cafes nearby, plus gift shops within walking distance~~ That place is,,! Your Anmok (Anmok Beach branch)~

The moment I arrived, the thing that got me was simply the loc.a.tion!!★

I figured booking a beachside stay in Gangneung would let me enjoy both the sea and cafes~ but Your Anmok is basically a stone's throw from Anmok Beach, and even better, it sits right at the start of Anmok Cafe Street! Park the car and just walk everywhere — double thumbs up!!

Where to park?

Parking matters a lot if you're traveling by car~~ There's building parking beside the stay, and you can also park in front at the Anmok Beach lot — super convenient!

Room 402: the sea, the second you walk in

I picked Room 402. The moment you step in, the first thing that catches your eye is, of course, the sea......................

For anyone who loves the sea, an ocean-view stay is . in.sane~ Put on your favorite song and it's perfect~

The point of this trip wasn't to see a lot, but to rest a lot, so a room with an actual sea view turned out to matter more than I expected!

A closer look at the room

The room felt clean overall~~ the bed and bedding were neat!

There's also a simple kitchen space! I wasn't planning to cook, but when traveling you still need somewhere to keep water or snacks, or eat something small!

The basics were well stocked, which I liked~~

Bathroom and spa

Another thing I always check when picking a stay: the bathroom

Clean~ Toothbrushes are provided as amenities, and towels come to about 4 basic + 2 large + 1 foot towel for one night, which was plenty for a one-night stay. Hair dryer provided.

Room 402 even has a free spa! It's floor-to-ceiling glass so the inside is visible from outside — closing the curtain during the spa is a must ^.^

Around the stay: everything within walking distance

The main reason I picked this place was the ocean view, but honestly Anmok Beach being so.close.by was huge. You can sea-gaze from the room, but also just sit right at Anmok Beach and zone out~

And Anmok Beach Cafe Street is walkable too! So many ocean-view cafes within walking distance, no need to hop in the car~

Feast your eyes on cute things and on the sea~ then come back to the stay to look at the sea again~~

What I found a bit lacking after one night

One thing I noticed over the day: being right by the sea, it gets cold at dawn~

What I found a bit disappointing was the soundproofing — not just in the hallway but inside the room and even the bathroom~

And since every room caps at 2 guests, this great location isn't something you can bring the kids along for as a family trip!

Other than that~~ I really wanted to drink Chodang corn coffee while looking at the sea, and I did~

Had dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken) for a late-night snack~ watched the sea lying down~ and caught the sunrise too!

Not driving around here and there, just spending the day in and around the stay itself — that was the good part. A trip to look at the sea and rest. This time, I really think the stay's location and view did all the work!!
