Pocheon creekside car camping at Byeolbit Camping Site A-1

Before summer was over, I really wanted to visit a campground with a valley stream, so I searched hard 🌿 I found Byeolbit Camping Site (별빛캠핑장) in Pocheon, surrounded by mountains and right in front of Damteo Valley.

Damteo Valley was right in front of our campground—especially close to our tent, just a little over 10 steps away 🌿 We enjoyed the valley and had such a satisfying stay somewhere nice and clean.

What were the facilities like at this Pocheon campground near Seoul?

Since it is a campground in Pocheon, close to Seoul, I think it took about an hour and a half from home! It is a conveniently accessible campground near Seoul 🙂

We arrived at the management building and checked in! They gave us trash bags and explained various things.

The management building had a washing-up area, showers, and restrooms. As you would expect from a newly opened campground, everywhere was clean 🌿💚🌳

They also run a store, stocked with firewood, drinks, snacks, and things you need for camping. We forgot our meat tongs and panicked, but luckily they sold them, so we bought some and used them well!!!

There are about 20 sites at the campground, and the ground is crushed gravel 🌿

We chose and reserved one of the car-camping sites, A1 through A5. This camping zone allows car camping and measures 7 m × 9 m!! 🏕️

If a full camping trip feels like too much but you want to enjoy the valley, renting one of these raised platforms for day use is a great option too. It is ₩10,000 per person, and you can play in the cool valley stream then head home on the same day, which sounded so nice!

The platform picnic zone is over to the left, and Damteo Valley is right in front of it like this!! The water is so clean that you can play in it and look for fish and freshwater snails.

They say cooking is allowed on the platforms too (but no charcoal grills or fire pits).

It would be so fun and lovely to grill samgyeopsal (Korean pork belly) while playing in the valley stream!! 💚💚

Damteo Valley is truly 10 seconds away

The valley is less than a 10-second walk from the campground! It is right out front, and I loved that so much.

The water was so clear that I could see all the fish swimming in it! It is such a clean valley, perfect for playing in the water 🐟🐟

They were not doctor fish, so why were they clinging to my legs like that? Hahaha, there were so many fish... That is how pristine Damteo Valley was 💚

Lush green mountains surrounded us on all sides, which made enjoying the valley even better!! Just sitting still and watching the valley water was deeply healing!!! 🌿🌳💚🏕️

There was also a little waterfall-like spot near the campground, haha. My husband rinsed his back under it.

It was not deep, but we soaked ourselves and played around!!

Just walk this far from the valley and you are back at our campground. It takes 10 seconds flat!!! This was my first time at a campground right in front of a valley stream. I was so satisfied.

Why we chose the A-1 car-camping site

We reserved A-1! ❤️ It is right next to the entrance leading down to Damteo Valley, so it has the best access to the stream!!! It is what we consider the sweet spot, and the site we recommend.

🏕️ The A-1 camping site is ₩50,000 (₩60,000 in peak season). You can see the valley right in front of you, and there was plenty of space between sites, so we did not disturb the people around us!!

We enjoyed car camping! 🚘 Before evening, they came around to disinfect once. Maybe because of that, there were fewer bugs than expected even though it was summer. The electricity was well maintained too.

This is the picnic zone! There were lots of spots for different uses.

For this camping trip, we brought pork back ribs. We had a barbecue while listening to the green mountains and the sound of the valley water. It tasted even better somehow, and it was so healing ❤️❤️

Everyone followed quiet hours well, so we slept like babies. The showers were clean too, and we freshened up nicely.

It was my first time summer camping, so I was worried, but at Byeolbit Camping Site in Pocheon, I came back fully recharged without any problems!! When the weather gets cooler, I want to go again and soak up nature. I highly recommend this Pocheon valley campground.
