Daeheung-dong burger restaurant with avocado burger: Burgiz Daeheung

Today, I visited Burgiz Daeheung (버기즈 대흥), a newly opened American-style handmade burger spot in Daeheung-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon. Burgiz is a burger brand that started in Daejeon in 2017 and has been steadily loved ever since. 🍔 BURGER + IS—the name BURGIZ is said to be a witty, concise expression of “Burger is,” meaning “burgers are.” Just like its simple but clear message, “Burgers are Burgiz,” it is a place that delivers taste, delight, and value to its customers.

The interior was neat and bright, with tables spaced generously apart, which I liked. It also felt comfortable for anyone coming alone for a meal. You can order conveniently through Toss QR Order at your table.

Burgiz menu and set options

There are 13 burger choices: cheese, double cheese, bacon cheese, double bacon, Hangover, Godfather, Chicago, veggie, avocado, mushroom, Twig, Cheese Bang, and crispy chicken. Sides include salad, chicken snacks, original fries, chili fries, garlic butter fries, pepperoni cheese fries, sweet potato fries, and buffalo wings.

When you upgrade a regular burger to a set, it comes with original fries and a drink. Every burger except the chicken and veggie burgers includes a beef patty, and most come with cheese, grilled onions, tomato, lettuce, and more. Pick the burger that fits your taste perfectly.

They say you receive a scratch-off lottery ticket when you leave a Naver review. There is also a self-service station inside with sauces and water, plus a washbasin.

When you order a drink, they bring you a cup filled with ice, then you serve yourself. I especially liked that there was a wide selection of zero-sugar drinks too.

The Hangover burger with hash browns

The Hangover burger, one of Burgiz’s signature items 🍔, comes with a beef patty, American cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, bacon, hash browns, a fried egg, and BBQ sauce. I would especially recommend it to anyone who loves hash browns. The thick patty, crisp hash browns, bacon, and egg made every bite full of different textures and flavors. The BBQ sauce was slightly spicy, so even with all those generous ingredients, it did not become heavy—I just kept eating!

The avocado burger that tasted best

The avocado burger was my favorite of everything I ate that day 🍔. It comes with a beef patty, American cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, bacon, avocado, and ranch sauce. I thought the avocado might make it too rich, but the moment I took a bite, I was surprised by how much more balanced it was than expected. The savory, nutty flavors of the patty, cheese, and bacon came together with ripe avocado, soft as butter, yet it barely felt greasy. The avocado burger was my top pick that day!

The crispy chicken burger loved by adults and kids

The crispy chicken burger is one both adults and kids will love. It contains crispy hot chicken, coleslaw, dill, and pickles. Burgiz’s beef patties are tasty, but its chicken burgers are delicious too. The slightly spicy crispy chicken was piled with crunchy, refreshing coleslaw, and this combination was truly a stroke of genius. The coleslaw neatly cut through the richness that could come from the chicken patty, making it easy to enjoy. My child said this place is the best compared with other burger brands!!

I was happy with the fries I ordered as a side too. They did not have that heavy flavor of food fried in old oil; they were crisp and clean, as if freshly fried, so they went well with the burgers. 🍟 The buffalo wings had an appealing spicy kick! They were tasty on their own, but dipped in sauce, they made a perfect extra side with the burgers.

The restroom entrance is beside the ordering area.

You can park at Daejeon Lifelong Learning Center. It is available from 18:00 to 21:30 on weekdays and from 08:30 to 21:30 on weekends and public holidays, and street parking is also possible. There were spaces even during the daytime on the weekend.

Burgiz Daeheung is a great place to visit when you want a proper handmade burger in a clean setting in Daeheung-dong, Daejeon. 🍔 The 100% beef patties were thick and juicy, and each burger had a different ingredient combination, making it fun to choose according to your preferences. My favorite was the avocado burger, thanks to the soft avocado and patty combination, and I would definitely recommend the Hangover burger if you love hash browns. With its neat atmosphere and easy ordering, it is a spot I would recommend whether you are dining alone or visiting with friends or family!
