Where is JJ Republic Sinsa Main Store, and where do you park?

Coming out of Sinsa Station Exit 8, you go past the pharmacy right in front of you, turn into the alley, and take a left — the shop is on the 2nd floor of the building across from the CU convenience store, so it wasn't hard to find. If you're driving, there's free parking in the alley to the right of the building, and free valet in front of Cheonmimi Chinese restaurant on the left. Right in the middle of Gangnam, it's super accessible by public transit too, and since the Sinsa branch is directly operated (not a franchise), that gave me more confidence.

What was really great was that JJ Republic Sinsa has its own in-house tailoring factory right inside the store. Cutting out the unnecessary markup from the usual distribution process keeps prices reasonable, and the turnaround — usually 3-4 weeks or more elsewhere — averages just 7-10 days here. Huge advantage ✨

Inside JJ Republic: the consultation room and on-site tailoring factory

Walking in at our reserved time for the groom's suit consultation, there was a consultation table all set up. Off to one side, neatly separated, was the actual factory area where the suits are made +_+ The consultation space had fabric sample books organized by type, and being able to see transparently how high-quality fabric becomes a suit in the factory really boosted my trust in the place.

Since this place is well known for men's tailored formalwear, one whole wall was packed with finished suits waiting for their owners! Seeing the trace of so many people who'd already made their choice here made me commit to the contract without hesitation 👍

Choosing the fabric: dark grey Jeil Mojik First Class 100% wool

We'd made a Naver Reservation in advance, and I liked that the custom suit prices were listed transparently on Naver. At first we planned to go with the cheapest fabric option for the best value haha, but once we actually touched the fabrics and compared the colors in person, the 100% wool domestic Jeil Mojik First Class fabric felt far more luxurious and classic than the cheapest option! Seeing and feeling it with our own hands, the firm, refined tone of the Jeil Mojik First Class fabric won us over, so we finally settled on the dark grey color!

From the buttons to lapel size, pocket square shape, pocket details, and even the one-tuck style and rise length my fiancé had wanted, everything was carefully tailored to our preferences one by one. This is what makes a custom-tailored suit worth it, haha.

How the finished groom's suit fits, and how long it took

We had a tight photoshoot schedule, so when we asked, they made it a day or two faster than the usual turnaround for a custom groom's suit! There was no mid-fitting process at all — once it was done, we booked a Naver pickup reservation, came in, and tried it on. The lines held a beautiful shape without being too tight — a perfectly classic fit ..🤍

The subtle, luxurious sheen when actually worn was amazing — even more than it looked as a fabric sample! It was tailored with a bit of room to spare, so my boyfriend was thrilled thinking he could still wear it for a long time even if he gained a little weight, haha.
