I got my boyfriend fitted for a suit at JJ Republic, famous in Sinsa, Gangnam for hitting that sweet spot between good value and good quality. Since we're going to more and more weddings these days, and a proper suit is something you can wear for years, haha, I figured it was worth it. Here's my honest review :)

JJ Republic Sinsa Main Store is really close to Sinsa Station, so it was easy to get to by public transit. It's on the 2nd floor of the building, so we took the elevator up.
Sinsa is the main store, and they also run directly-operated branches in Ilsan and Bundang. Even if you book and consult at the Sinsa main store, they'll accommodate a request to do fittings or suit pickup at a closer branch later, so keep that in mind!

A production line inside the JJ Republic store
The secret behind how JJ Republic keeps high quality at good prices! They have their own in-house production factory to cut out unnecessary steps in the distribution process!!!! When I first visited, I was startled — I thought it was literally a factory, haha.

Cutting out unnecessary steps and having this kind of dedicated production line in-house lets them make suits that are both affordable and high quality — as a customer, I was really grateful for that!
I already knew that cutting, fitting, and sewing a single suit takes a lot of hands-on work, but seeing it in person made me appreciate it even more.
Just by cutting out the price markup, you can get a suit made with this much craftsmanship for under ₩400,000!!!! I was really touched by how reasonable JJ Republic's approach is, haha.
Choosing summer suit fabric and buttons
My boyfriend runs hot, so we decided to get him a summer suit. This was my first time at a place like this so I had a lot of questions, and they patiently explained and showed me everything — I was so grateful.
They helped us compare several fabrics and gave recommendations, which was great. Honestly, when you're just looking at fabric swatches they all look the same and you can't really picture what it'll look like as a finished suit... but as the consultant explained things and held the fabric up near his face, I gradually got a feel for it, lol. If you roughly search for a suit design or color you like and bring one or two photos with you, I think it'll make the consultation less overwhelming!
Choosing the buttons one by one turned out to be surprisingly fun, lol. We reflected each other's tastes and kept holding options up against the fabric, getting oddly serious about it, ha..ha.
During the consultation they showed us various samples and explained the design choices tailored to my boyfriend's body type so perfectly that all we had to do was sit back and pick, ha...
Body shape analysis, measurements and fittings at other branches
They measured everything carefully and did a body analysis, telling us they'd adjust the fit in several ways to complement his body type, so I got really excited about how the finished suit would turn out ><
We had our consultation at the Sinsa main store, but they said the fitting and suit pickup could happen at another branch too, so depending on the timeline for the suit, we decided to pick it up at whichever branch is more convenient. Since all the branches are directly operated, that gives you this kind of flexibility!
JJ Republic Sinsa, offering customers high quality, affordable, great-value custom suits through a reasonable business model! Whether it's a casual suit or formalwear, having one custom suit made in your life seems like something you'll get a lot of use out of, haha.
