Fall suddenly arrived and I was craving hot soup, so I went looking for a gomtang (pork bone soup) spot in Myeongdong to visit after work!!
Where is Baekok Myeongdong? Hours and the walk from Myeongdong Station Exit 6

Inside Baekok Myeongdong: solo seats and group tables
The Baekok Myeongdong space had a plain white-and-wood interior with both solo seats and group seating. The group tables looked like they could seat up to 20 people.
Turn off the main Myeongdong street into a charming alley and you'll find the hidden clear pork gomtang spot 'Baekok Myeongdong.' The place was super clean and bright, which I loved!!
This is Baekok, the pork gomtang place that's been featured on the TV show 'Vivid Information Center'! Both the pork gomtang and the cabbage dumplings were featured. I'd never tried cabbage dumplings before, so I was curious.
The moment I walked in, the overall vibe was clean and tidy. The plain white-and-wood interior felt comfortable, relaxed, and calm.
I could see why this place is known as a solo-dining spot in Myeongdong! With such well-set-up solo seats, it seemed like a great place for office workers in Euljiro and Myeongdong to grab a quick, filling, hearty bowl at lunch.
Beyond solo seating, the group tables were also well set up. It looked great for four people to come for dinner or lunch, and I saw tables that could seat up to 20.
Why a mild broth can still taste this good
If you want a calm meal in the middle of bustling Myeongdong, I recommend Baekok Myeongdong!
Clean broth with no gamey smell, tender meat, a flavor you could eat every day without getting tired of it — that's what Baekok considers a good gomtang!!! It really was that kind of clean, keeps-coming-to-mind taste that makes you want to come back often.

I ordered the pork gomtang and cabbage dumplings! I'd highly recommend both menu items! They go really well together, so I'd suggest ordering them as a set.

The food came out fast. I was hungry, so that was a plus too. I could see why it's popular with office workers in Euljiro and Myeongdong at lunchtime! It's easy, filling, and delicious.
It was exactly the hot bowl of soup we were looking for in this crisp fall weather!!
It was a great pork gomtang spot near Myeongdong Station! It made me curious about the rest of the menu too, like the yak-gomtang and yeol-gomtang.

I came in only knowing it as a gomtang spot, but the side dish was a winner too!! My eyes widened trying cabbage dumplings for the first time... I'd definitely order this again next time.
Pairing the light, hot gomtang with the crunchy texture of the cabbage dumplings really worked well together.
The clean broth of the gomtang combined with the cabbage dumplings as a nice accent throughout, so I enjoyed the meal all the way to the end!
Free corkage: bringing wine to dinner at Baekok Myeongdong
I've seen on Instagram lately that gukbap (rice soup) pairs well with wine, and since this place is corkage-free, it made me want to bring wine for dinner and try it with the soup.
They even provide mouthwash at the register — such a nice touch! A great gomtang spot in Myeongdong! I'll definitely come back for a solo lunch.
