Asan grilled fish with 5,000-won kids' meal: Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo

In short

Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch is a hearth-grilled fish Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Ramada Encore by Wyndham building by Tangjeong Station in Asan. The value set for two (grilled atka mackerel and seasoned grilled mackerel) costs 31,000 won, a child's meal adds 5,000 won, and the restaurant lays out a 15-dish self-serve side bar plus kids' tableware, a microwave and baby chairs. Both the grilled fish and the side bar were good enough to make Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo a repeat stop for eating out with a child.

I visited Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch, a new hot spot near Tangjeong Station, where you can enjoy fish grilled over a 500°C+ hearth — crispy outside, moist inside — along with an all-you-can-eat 15-dish Korean set meal made fresh every morning.

Where is Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo in Asan, and where do you park?

Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch is on the 2nd floor of the same building as the Ramada Encore by Wyndham near Tangjeong Station. It's open from 11 AM to 9 PM, with a weekday break time from 3 to 5 PM and no break on weekends. It was closed on September 25 for Chuseok.

Parking is free for 2 hours in the building's basement lot, and if it's full you can use the public parking lot right in front of Tangjeong Station. Just keep in mind that the restaurant can't register your car for that public lot, so worth noting before you go.

What's on the 15-dish self-serve side bar?

Paper lined the table, which felt clean and hygienic. The basic setting came with ureong ssamjang (fermented snail paste dip), lettuce wraps, lotus root salad, pickled onions, seaweed soup, and a plate for the self-serve bar.

The self-serve bar had 15 classic Korean side dishes to enjoy — japchae (glass noodles), stir-fried pork, rolled egg, braised tofu, various seasoned vegetables, and lettuce wraps, all the kinds of dishes you keep reaching for. Very satisfying.

For drinks there was coffee, omija tea (schisandra berry tea), and barley tea, and if you join the review event you can also get free ice cream.

The self-serve bar even had kids' tableware and, quite thoughtfully, a microwave.

I liked the side dishes so much I grabbed one of everything, and once it was all set out it looked super hearty! Every dish was seasoned just right, not too strong, and suited my taste well.

How the 31,000-won set for two tastes: atka mackerel and seasoned mackerel

What I ordered: the value set for two with atka mackerel and seasoned grilled mackerel for ₩31,000, plus one child's meal for ₩5,000.

Two grilled fish fresh from the hearth

The seasoned grilled mackerel is first pre-grilled, then coated in the restaurant's own special sauce and grilled again — the combination of spicy, savory sauce and moist mackerel was fantastic. Put over hot rice, it truly steals the whole bowl!

Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo says the hearth is hand-built from volcanic stone by a hearth-making craftsman, grilling fish at over 500°C for rich flavor, aroma, and nutrition. The atka mackerel especially had tender flesh with crispy skin — both the kids and adults loved it.

The ice cream cup and spoon we got for writing the receipt review! We finished off the meal full and satisfied, dessert included.

If you love grilled fish near Tangjeong Station in Asan, I highly recommend Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch! The fish is delicious, but the self-serve bar is just as satisfying — definitely on my list to revisit whenever I'm craving grilled fish and Korean food!
