Walking in, the place felt clean and tidy overall. The hall had a variety of table seating, including space for groups, so it looked like a good spot for family gatherings or dining with several people at once.

Baby chairs were also available, which made it easy to visit with a child. From what I saw, the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere and the owner was really kind, making for a comfortable meal.
Sinseong Agujjim menu and how the 5 heat levels work

The menu includes agujjim, seafood jjim, boneless agujjim, algonijjim, and monkfish jirigae, plus a wide variety of seafood add-ons. You can add monkfish, squid, octopus, roe, milt, and whelk — just note that they say the seafood add-ons taste best when added at the time of your first order! For rice dishes, there's plain rice, fried rice, flying fish roe rice balls, and kids' pork cutlet, plus king shrimp tempura, udon noodles, and ramyun noodles.

What I loved most was the 5-level heat selection!! Level 1 is a mild, easygoing flavor, level 2 is slightly spicier than Shin Ramyun, level 3 and up starts to numb your mouth, and levels 4–5 are for the spice enthusiasts, they said. I visited with my mom, who can't handle spicy food well, so we ordered level 1, but next time I'd like to try level 2 with my husband haha. We ordered the small size boneless agujjim.
How does the level 1 boneless agujjim taste?

After ordering, the basic side dishes came out first — salad, white kimchi, pickled vegetables, and warm seaweed soup, all served neatly.

The seaweed soup came in a generous portion, which paired well with the spicy agujjim.

After a short wait, the boneless agujjim arrived, looking delicious with its red sauce! The small size was plenty for two, packed with plump boneless monkfish, roe/milt, and a generous amount of bean sprouts.

We ordered it at heat level 1, and while there was a slight spicy aroma at first, it wasn't harshly spicy — just the right amount of heat! The sauce had a clean, savory flavor that kept us reaching for more without getting tired of it.

The monkfish meat was soft and plump, and eating it together with the crunchy bean sprouts gave it a really nice texture.

Dipping it lightly in soy-wasabi sauce added a sharp kick and a whole different flavor. Personally, the sauce was so tasty but not too intense, which made it great to share with my parents.
Why you should order the finishing fried rice at Sinseong Agujjim

And you can't skip the fried rice! I was already full and debated it, but we ordered just one serving, and it was still a generous portion! They scoop out the agujjim sauce separately and fry it up nice and savory, so I enjoyed it all the way to the last bite.

You absolutely have to add the fried rice! It's so good you'd regret skipping it~

Plump boneless monkfish, crunchy bean sprouts, a savory sauce, and fried rice to finish it all off! If you want a hearty meal after touring Onyang Hot Springs, how about Sinseong Agujjim? It was a great agujjim restaurant in Asan, especially since you can adjust the spice level. If you're ever craving agujjim in Asan and want to enjoy it to the fullest, Sinseong Agujjim Asan Branch is worth a visit!
