Bacon cream gnocchi and burrata salad in Seo-gu, Daejeon: Plate Dunsan

A Dunsan-dong, Daejeon restaurant I love: Plate Dunsan Branch.

This spot opened following the Seonhwa-dong location, and it's unique in that you can actually pick your own noodle type for each pasta. I picked it as a meeting spot with a former coworker I hadn't seen in a while. It holds its own as a Daejeon gnocchi restaurant too — chewy, with sauce that's simply excellent. I'll introduce this place where sitting by the window overlooking the outside beats any view.

Location and parking at Plate Dunsan Branch

Plate Dunsan Branch sits on the street behind Galleria Timeworld. Being right on the road makes it super convenient to visit, and the building even offers parking for up to 1 car. As for me, I just walked there ^^ Honestly, public transit here is excellent and it's so easy to reach on foot, so this is my ideal meeting spot ><

This Daejeon gnocchi restaurant sits on the 2nd floor, reachable by elevator or stairs. The vibe here is already different from Seonhwa-dong — the Dunsan branch is a bit bigger, and the atmosphere feels more like a family restaurant. Even from outside, it looks lovely.

Interior atmosphere and the window seat

Inside Plate Dunsan Branch, a Dunsan-dong, Daejeon restaurant. It's genuinely clean and upscale-feeling, with table spacing so generous it feels private. Sitting by the window especially gives you a full view of Dunsan-dong, which somehow cools your mind too. As it gets darker, the atmosphere really comes alive, making it a great dinner date spot too.

Toward the back there's a slightly more private space. It's decorated nicely throughout, pleasant just to look at.

Menu and how noodle choices work

The menu looks simple at first glance, but the appeal is in how many combinations you can make. Next to each pasta you can choose the noodle type — there's a recommended noodle number listed alongside each dish that pairs well, so you can go with that, or pick your own preferred noodle if you have one. I usually don't know enough, so I generally just go with whatever number they recommend for each pasta. It really shows why this is a pasta restaurant in Dunsan-dong worth talking about — genuinely affordable and delicious, which is just great.

There are lots of options, and prices start in the ₩10,000s range, which is genuinely cheap. But the quality of this Dunsan-dong pasta truly exceeds that price.

After some deliberation, we ordered the gnocchi, burrata cheese salad, and classic meatball Bolognese.

What the dishes were like

Cutlery, neatly arranged.

The spoon, chopsticks, knife, and fork were all packaged tidily, which looked good and felt clean and hygienic — I really liked that.

The side dish is basically just radish pickle, but with pasta, that alone is plenty.

After a short wait, all the delicious-looking dishes assembled together. The visuals were excellent for the price alone. Enjoying food of this quality at this price is amazing!

Burrata cheese salad

First, the burrata cheese salad I'd really wanted. Plate Dunsan Branch nails this one too. Fresh vegetables, burrata cheese, and a variety of fruits and dried nuts are all piled on top.

I took a small bite, and the salty, savory burrata cheese flavor filling my mouth was outstanding ㅠ This place is simply excellent at salads.

Meatball Bolognese

For this most basic menu item, we picked the noodle that pairs well with it — flat and thin, so the sauce clings better. Big, hearty meatballs were piled generously on top too.

Wow, one bite in and this was genuinely a treasure ㅠㅠ The noodles were super soft and just slid down smoothly. I'm honestly not sure how meatballs can be this tender. I feel like I could eat them with my gums, haha.

Bacon cream gnocchi

The gnocchi I'd really been craving, from this Daejeon gnocchi restaurant ~ Look at these hefty toppings on top ><

Dipping it lightly in the cream sauce was heavenly. I immediately understood why this is a Daejeon gnocchi restaurant! Chewy and springy, with excellent sauce. And with the hefty mushroom and bacon pieces, the flavor was so rich eating them together. The sauce was such a treasure I could nearly lick the plate clean!
