Burger restaurant with baby chair for lunch in Tanbang-dong, Daejeon

In short

Buggies Tangbang is a burger restaurant tucked in a Tanbang-dong alley in Seo-gu, Daejeon. Visiting right at opening time before a Lotte Department Store culture center class with a close mom friend and baby, they shared a Godfather burger, an avocado burger, and pepperoni cheese fries, with a baby chair ready at the table for easy dining. Buggies Tangbang delivers on both vibe and burger quality, and it's a place worth going back to.

Lunch before the culture center's opening day

The fall semester at the Lotte Department Store culture center finally started!!!

I was looking for somewhere good to eat near Lotte Department Store before class with a close mom friend (born in the year of the snake, like me) who takes the same class, and that's how I found this hip burger place, Buggies Tangbang.

Buggies Tangbang is a burger restaurant tucked away in a Tanbang-dong alley, and even the exterior has that hip, American-diner kind of vibe.

Exterior of Buggies Tangbang decorated with an American vibe

The outside was decorated so stylishly that it seemed like the kind of place you'd notice just walking by.

Stepping inside, the interior was just as on-trend, so I was in a good mood before the food even arrived hahaha.

Interior of Buggies Tangbang decorated in a trendy style

It's run by a young male owner and young staff, and maybe because of that, the whole place felt bright, casual, and trendy.

We came right at opening time and there were already customers eating. While we ate, people kept coming in for takeout, and delivery orders kept coming in too.

Is it okay to bring a baby? Yes — baby chairs available

It really felt like a popular burger spot in Tanbang-dong. The inside was neatly kept and had that free, easygoing vibe typical of a burger joint, so it seemed like a good fit for dates, meals with friends, or family outings.

What I appreciated most, as someone eating with a baby, was that a baby chair was already set up. I could put my baby in the chair and eat comfortably, which made it a pretty satisfying spot for a meal out with a little one. I worried a burger place might be inconvenient with a baby, but it turned out more comfortable than I expected.

What we ordered and the prices

Menu board at Buggies Tangbang

Here's what we ordered that day:

Table setup with burgers and fries ordered
Godfather burger loaded with fillings

Godfather — ₩10,300

The Godfather looked packed with fillings just from the look of it. The red onions and fresh vegetables really stood out, and the crisp texture kept the burger feeling fresh with every bite. If you like your burgers loaded with vegetables, the Godfather would suit you well.

Avocado burger with avocado and bacon

Avocado — ₩10,800

The avocado burger lived up to its name, packed with fresh avocado. The soft, nutty avocado paired with savory bacon made a really nice combination. The creamy avocado texture and the salty, savory bacon flavor together made every bite fun.

The two burgers each had their own charm, so if you're visiting with someone, I'd recommend ordering one of each and sharing.

Pepperoni cheese fries topped with pepperoni and cheese

Pepperoni cheese fries — ₩6,800

The dish that grabbed my attention the most that day was the pepperoni cheese fries. The moment it arrived, the visual alone was almost ridiculously appetizing. With pepperoni and cheese piled on top of the fries, it looked like a combination that couldn't possibly taste bad.

Trying it, it was salty with that savory cheese flavor layered in, and I kept reaching for more. Just the burgers alone would have felt a little lacking, so I was really glad we ordered the pepperoni cheese fries too.

Overall thoughts

Burger held ready for a bite

Buggies Tangbang was a burger spot that satisfied on both taste and atmosphere. From the exterior to the interior, everything was decorated in a current, pretty style, so it was great for photos and just felt good to hang around in.

A young, trendy atmosphere inside the restaurant

Because it's run by a young owner and young staff, the overall atmosphere definitely felt young and trendy. But it's not just a pretty-looking place — the burgers themselves are genuinely good, which made me like it even more.

If you're looking for a good-atmosphere burger spot in Tanbang-dong, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a visit. The burgers we tried that day were delicious enough that I'd like to come back. Next time, I want to try some of Buggies' other menu items one by one.
