On the last night of a 2-night, 3-day Seoul trip with my boyfriend, we wrapped things up properly with charcoal-grilled pork at Galgol Yeontanjip Seocho Gyodae Branch, a well-known spot near Gyodae Station. It's close to the station and has a wide range of meat, but what really sold me was that soju and draft beer were only ₩3,900 — perfect for two people who love a drink.
Let me introduce this place for anyone looking for a good restaurant near Gyodae Station, or a comfortable spot in the area to enjoy meat and drinks together!
Where is Galgol Yeontanjip Seocho Gyodae Branch, and what are its hours?
Galgol Yeontanjip Seocho Gyodae Branch is about 246m, a 3-minute walk, from Gyodae Station Exit 6. 🚗 Paid valet parking is available right next to the restaurant, and ✅ reservations can be made by phone or through Naver Reservation.
The green sign with the restaurant's name written large made it easy to spot.

Seeing the standing sign advertising flat bibim noodles and charcoal fried rice got me curious about the side dishes even before going in.

A charcoal-grill restaurant run by two generations
Galgol Yeontanjip is a charcoal-grilling restaurant run together by a mother and son, across two generations. Using patented eco-friendly charcoal, they serve dishes like gochujang charcoal-grilled pork and charcoal salt-grilled pork belly.
Inside Galgol Yeontanjip: a retro dining room
Inside, teal walls, wood paneling, and red chairs came together for a warm, nostalgic feel. Rather than a newly built retro-style interior, it felt like walking into an old regular's spot you've been going to for years!

You order through a tablet installed at the table. It shows photos and prices of every menu item at a glance, which made adding more orders easy. There are also white aprons ready if you're worried about meat grease or sauce splattering on your clothes — I'd recommend putting one on ahead of time.
Side dishes and the orange slush after the meal
The banchan (side dishes) at Galgol Yeontanjip included napa cabbage kimchi, seolhwa green onion kimchi, shredded green onion, lettuce, and peppers. I also liked that there was a separate plate for holding the grilled meat, plus my favorite, basil pesto, on the side.
I also liked that they had cold hutgae (Hovenia dulcis) tea ready! Normal service during Chuseok holiday. After the meal, you can finish up with an orange slush! The refreshing, sweet orange flavor cleared my palate — perfect as a post-meal dessert.

What two people ordered at Galgol Yeontanjip, and what it cost
- Juljuli teukmoksal, 1 serving ₩15,900
- Seolhwa kkodeulsal, 1 serving ₩17,900
- Honeycomb tripe with special sauce ₩12,900
- World's only original flat bibim noodles ₩6,900
- 1-second draft beer, 350cc ₩3,900
- Chamisul soju, 2 bottles ₩7,800
We ordered a good spread — the signature teukmoksal, the daily-limited seolhwa kkodeulsal, flat bibim noodles, and honeycomb tripe.

Soju and 1-second draft beer-and-soju for 3,900 won
The first thing that caught my eye at Galgol Yeontanjip was the drink prices. Soju, draft beer, makgeolli, and beer are all ₩3,900.

Juljuli teukmoksal (pork neck strips), 15,900 won
The first thing we grilled was juljuli teukmoksal, the dish Galgol Yeontanjip strongly recommends. They say it's made from carefully selected cuts of top-grade Korean pork, and as soon as it arrived, the bright red color and evenly marbled fat caught my eye.
It came pre-cut into bite-sized pieces, strung together in a row, which made it easy to grill on the pan. My boyfriend did a great job flipping it constantly on the charcoal fire so it wouldn't burn, cooking it to a nice golden brown — the best! I guess meat really does taste different depending on who's grilling it — the meat he grilled was so good.

The lean meat was tender and the fatty part was savory, so even though it's pork neck, it wasn't just plain-tasting — it had a rich depth of flavor.
Flat bibim noodles, 6,900 won: the best match for grilled pork
While eating the meat, we ordered the world's only original flat bibim noodles for ₩6,900. Instead of the usual thin bibim noodles, this is Galgol Yeontanjip's own side dish made with wide, flat noodles. They come out piled generously on a wide plate.
The sauce was spicy with a tangy-sweet kick, refreshing our palate in the middle of eating meat.

Because the noodles are wide, the sauce coats them evenly, so every bite had a rich, deep flavor. If you lay the flat noodles on a spoon, wrap them around a piece of well-grilled meat, and eat them together — that combination is seriously amazing!
Seolhwa kkodeulsal, 17,900 won and limited to a set number each day
Kkodeulsal is a specialty cut — you can only get a few hundred grams of it from a whole pig! It looked leaner than the teukmoksal, with visible, distinct meat fibers. Grilling kimchi alongside it made it even better.

Honeycomb pork skin with special sauce, 12,900 won
After the meat and noodles, we finished with honeycomb tripe! Coating it generously with the roasted soybean powder is my favorite way to eat it.
Charcoal-scented teukmoksal and kkodeulsal, flat bibim noodles, and ₩3,900 drinks — it was an even better dinner because my boyfriend did all the grilling, a great way to end our last night of the Seoul trip.
