Bitgaram-dong galbi house in Naju for weekend lunch: Chamsutjip
In short
Chamsutjip Naju Innovation City Branch is a charcoal-grilled seasoned pork rib (galbi) restaurant on Green-ro in Bitgaram-dong, Naju, South Jeolla. Arriving for weekend lunch at 11:30am, the writer ordered the seasoned pork rib 2+1 deal (750g, 36,000 won) and added two more servings, served with a doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) full of blue crab and river snails plus braised tofu. With roomy underground parking and a lake park view, Chamsutjip handles a weekend family lunch without fuss.

I went to Chamsutjip, a restaurant famous for charcoal-grilled pork ribs in Bitgaram-dong, for a weekend lunch protein refuel.

Inside Chamsutjip: floor seating and lake park views

We arrived around 11:30am, and there were already families with kids dining at the floor-seating tables.

Once it hit noon, the spacious restaurant quickly filled up with families out for lunch! With baby chairs on hand and plenty of seating, it's a great atmosphere for a family gathering.

Inside, you get an open view of the lake park, which really adds to the vibe! It'd probably be too hot in summer, but once fall brings cooler weather, grilling at the outdoor tables would be lovely. I've always secretly envied people I see grilling meat outdoors while out running 😍
Chamsutjip menu and the seasoned pork rib 2+1 price

Looking around, most people seemed to be having the charcoal-grilled ribs, so we ordered the seasoned pork ribs too! Chamsutjip gives you a generous 2+1 deal, limited to once per table.
We ordered the seasoned pork ribs 2+1 (750g, ₩36,000) and waited excitedly. Then we added two more servings lol, big-eater couple (₩18,000 per serving).

Side dishes and the blue crab and river snail doenjang jjigae
The basic table setting was pure cleanliness from the start. The side vegetables that came with it looked super fresh at a glance!

The braised tofu side dish came out steaming hot and seasoned all the way through, really whetting the appetite. And there was my beloved stir-fried miwok stem too! 🪸

The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) that comes free with the meat was packed with blue crab and snails, and the broth was really spicy and perfectly seasoned.

How to grill the ribs over charcoal: one row at a time
Soon the glowing charcoal arrived along with the seasoned pork ribs 🐷🐽
The note next to the menu said to grill just one row of ribs at first, so being obedient, we started by laying down exactly one row.

Of course, from the second round on, they grilled two rows at a time properly.
You know the key to seasoned ribs is flipping them back and forth diligently so they don't burn, right?

Grilled with care, the charcoal aroma soaked gently into the meat as it turned golden brown and delicious.

How do Chamsutjip's seasoned pork ribs taste, with wraps and rice?
Taking a bite, the seasoned pork ribs weren't too sweet or too salty — the seasoning was just right!

Pork rib restaurants are honestly a dime a dozen, but finding one where the seasoning truly clings to the meat well is harder than you'd think ㅠㅠ gotta admit it.

Wrapping fresh lettuce with pickled pepper, doenjang, and extra garlic, then adding a bowl of rice dipped in the stew broth topped with a piece of meat — that's absolute honey-sweet deliciousness 🐝🍯

If I had to pick my favorite food without hesitation, it'd be charcoal-grilled pork ribs, so this was a very satisfying weekend lunch.

If you're looking for a great BBQ restaurant in Naju or a lunch spot in Bitgaram-dong, I definitely recommend visiting! (Ah, I want to eat it again already ㅠㅠ)
