In short

Sushi Doku The Songdo is a sushi set restaurant on the second floor of Onesta Mall in Songdo, Incheon, a 6-minute walk from Hyundai Premium Outlet (Songhyeona), which makes it an easy stop before or after shopping. On a weekday visit at noon there were 2 groups ahead in line, and the premium sushi set at 25,900 won came with truffle chawanmushi, a half udon and tempura. Sushi Doku The Songdo's signature premium sushi set

I revisited Sushi Doku's Songdo branch, which I go to whenever I'm craving sushi in Songdo. It's close to Hyundai Premium Outlet, so it's a great Songhyeona (송현아) spot to hit before or after shopping. The sushi set is generous and delicious, so if you're looking for a sushi restaurant in Songdo, I'd recommend Sushi Doku.

Sushi Doku is a sushi chain based in Seoul, and this is its only branch in the Gyeonggi/Incheon area, in Songdo. It's great being able to easily visit this Seoul-loved sushi chain without going all the way to Seoul.

With titles like #1 on Naver Search and #1 nationwide in Baemin favorites, this place has both value for money and taste locked down. Since moving to Incheon, Sushi Doku has become my favorite single-branch sushi spot :)

Waiting area at Sushi Doku The Songdo on a weekday afternoon

How long is the wait at noon on a weekday?

In the past people used to wait from opening time, but on my recent noon visit there were only 2 groups waiting. Maybe with the nice weather more people are out doing other things, because the wait has really shortened haha.

The interior is pretty and clean, making it a good date spot in Songdo too. There's tea set up at the entrance, so you can enjoy it comfortably while waiting or after your meal!

Since Sushi Doku is already a well-known spot, ingredients turn over consistently and quickly. Thanks to that, they can offer the freshest ingredients and best flavor. It's a 100% live system where skilled chefs prepare each order the moment it comes in.

The sushi set menu is the main draw, split into standard, premium, and deluxe tiers. Takeout is sushi-only, which makes it a bit cheaper to enjoy.

Full spread of the premium sushi set

Sushi Doku's premium sushi set includes flounder, red seabream, salmon, squid, sweet shrimp, akami (lean tuna), red shrimp, snow crab meat, eel, and ankimo (monkfish liver), plus truffle chawanmushi (savory egg custard), refillable half udon, crispy tempura, salad, and tsukemono (pickles).

Fried quinoa tossed with truffle oil is placed on top, giving a fun textural contrast against the soft chawanmushi.

There are also small shrimp and ginkgo nuts inside, which made it feel even more complete.

What comes in the 10-piece sushi plate

The sushi set at Sushi Doku comes with a total of 10 pieces. They use the best ingredients available in Korea and operate on a same-day-in, same-day-out principle, so you can really taste the freshness.

If you like clean sushi that lets the natural flavor of the ingredients shine, the set is great because you get to try a wide variety.

The half udon you can refill

This is the half udon included in the set. It comes with a big piece of sweet fried tofu, the kind you'd taste on a trip to Japan, plus fish cake. The portion of udon is generous and quite filling.

The tempura in the set comes with one fried shrimp and two pieces of karaage, all fried up nice and crispy.

Choosing your wasabi and brushing on the soy sauce

At Sushi Doku The Songdo, you can choose whether or not you want wasabi on your sushi, and even if you choose without, it's still provided separately so you can add it yourself. Personally, I prefer it this way.

Wasabi served separately on the side

I usually don't like dipping the rice side of sushi directly into soy sauce. At Sushi Doku, they provide a brush so you can apply soy sauce evenly onto the sushi, which gives a more consistent flavor — this is another reason I keep coming back.

Sushi Doku's salmon sushi is made from long-tail salmon by chefs who clearly know their stuff, giving a rich, fatty salmon flavor that fills your mouth.

The eel sushi was also clean, with no small bones :)

You can also order 2 extra pieces of sushi separately.

Don't ever miss the review event

Premium sushi given out through the review event

Sushi Doku's review event is a real deal. The sushi offered changes from time to time, but since it's always a premium item, I recommend joining in and trying it.

If you're looking for a sushi restaurant in Songdo, Sushi Doku is the first place that comes to mind, and I revisited it once more. Omakase can be too pricey, and casual sushi often leaves something to be desired — Sushi Doku fills exactly that gap.
