Naju meat restaurant serving pork belly with myeolchijeot: Chamsutjip

In short

Chamsutjip Naju Innovation City Branch is a charcoal grill meat restaurant on the first floor of the Isu Cafe building next to Bitgaram Lake Park in Naju. Two diners ordered 3 servings of seasoned pork ribs (a 2+1 deal), 2 servings of five-layer pork belly dipped in myeolchijeot (salted anchovy sauce) simmered right on the grill, snail doenjang stew with rice, and jjagyechi (kimchi-egg-cheese ramyeon) to finish. With floor seating and free corkage, Chamsutjip suits both family dinners and work get-togethers.

Where Chamsutjip Naju Innovation City Branch is and what the seating is like

I visited #Chamsutjip Naju Innovation City Branch, a Naju Innovation City BBQ restaurant where you can taste meat grilled over real charcoal. It's on the first floor of the Isu Cafe building.

It sits right by Bitgaram Lake Park, so it's great for a walk after your meal, and parking is fairly convenient too.

On cool autumn nights you can even grill outdoors haha

It accepts Onnuri gift certificates and Naju Love gift certificates ~

There's shoes-off floor seating, so a lot of families with kids come here. They have disposable aprons and baby chairs ready, plus lockers for coats.

Sign about the Naver review event and free corkage

Apparently if you take part in the Naver review event, they give you a drink or beverage.

Free corkage also seems like a big perk for anyone looking for a spot for a work dinner or gathering.

Cutting to the conclusion... the two of us polished off 3 servings of pork ribs, 2 servings of pork belly, jjagyechi, and rice.

What comes with the basic table setting at Chamsutjip

The basic side dishes were corn salad, wrap greens, seasoned acorn jelly, green onion salad, seasoned crab, gungchae pickles, and kimchi — and honestly this spread alone already felt like enough for a bottle of soju ..!

Especially the spicy-salty acorn jelly

and the umami-packed seasoned crab clung to my mouth in the best way, so I ate every bit.

The green onion salad and kimchi were seasoned perfectly too, so they disappeared instantly with the meat

The wrap greens were fresh and in great condition, and I really liked that the water was plain bottled water.

Grilling the 2+1 seasoned pork ribs

As soon as you order meat, they put in the charcoal right away — the heat is pretty strong, so the meat cooked fast.

I was debating starting with pork belly, but the pork ribs seemed to be the main dish, so I started with those. The 2+1 event was running, so ordering 2 servings gets you 3 total.

With the seasoned pork ribs, the key is flipping them often so the sauce doesn't burn.

The meat was tender and the sauce sweet, making it a dish everyone from kids to adults would love.

The corn salad was so good I refilled it from the self-service bar haha

Complimentary snail doenjang stew and rice

Around the time the ribs finished cooking, I ordered rice. And here came the snail miso soup, ta-da.

It was packed with vegetables, tofu, and plenty of snails — hard to believe this was the free complimentary stew.

Rice served alongside pork ribs

The sweetly grilled pork ribs were delicious wrapped in greens or piled onto warm rice — either way, perfect.

Five-layer pork belly dipped in myeolchijeot

It felt like a shame to stop at just pork ribs haha, so we ordered 2 more servings of pork belly. It came with myeolchijeot (fermented anchovy sauce), which the staff told us to boil right on the grill.

The pork belly had firm meat with a chewy, popping texture when grilled — I think this is a menu almost anyone would like.

Finishing the meal with jjagyechi

While browsing the menu I also ordered jjagyechi. They piled on toppings like cucumber, egg, and cheese. It was boiled down to a slightly chewy texture — genuinely delicious jjagyechi.

The myeolchijeot wasn't fishy at all, just full of umami, so I kept dipping into it again and again.

Starting with pork ribs, then pork belly, snail miso soup with rice, and finishing with jjagyechi — that's how we cleaned our plates at #NajuInnovationCityRestaurant Chamsutjip. Recommended as a Bitgaram Lake Park favorite and a Naju Innovation City BBQ spot ~
