Fresh-cut kimchi and the self-serve rice and broth bar
There's fresh geotjeori (lightly seasoned cabbage kimchi) made from cabbage they grow themselves at every table — just-made freshness with a nice spicy kick, this place is a kimchi champion ><

And the self-serve corner is fully stocked, so how could we not check it out?!

There are basic side dishes like radish pickle, danmuji (pickled radish), and kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) that you can pick and grab!

And there's a rice cooker with glossy, chewy rice made from sunhyangmi rice, so you can eat as much as you like!!
There's also warm broth on offer, salty and hot, which warms you right up and puts you in a good mood~~
Every table has vinegar, hot mustard, chili paste, pepper, and — nice touch — even a hair tie!!

What is the mixed-topping naengmyeon like with crab, pollock hoe and meat together?
We each ordered a different Bundang naengmyeon or kalguksu, plus the chicken tenderloin katsu (2pc) set!

Myeongyeok has a mixed-topping naengmyeon menu where you can combine naengmyeon toppings as options!! So we went ahead and put in every combination — seasoned crab plus pollock hoe plus meat ><

The amount of seasoned crab meat surprised us, and there was a lot of it. The seasoning wasn't too salty or too sweet, just the right spicy kick!
And the other toppings weren't skimpy either — plenty of pollock hoe muchim (seasoned raw pollock salad) and meat, so the naengmyeon alone was filling enough!! If you're visiting for the first time and can't decide which noodle dish to order, don't overthink it — just combine everything you want@@

How big is the half-chicken kalguksu portion?
And then the half-chicken kalguksu plus chicken tenderloin katsu.

A genuinely huge half chicken sits on top, with rich chicken broth and chewy noodles — the portion alone is massive!!
We tried the broth first! No gamey smell at all, just the savory chicken flavor left behind, like drinking a health tonic~
You could tell the chicken had been simmered a long time — not just the thigh meat but every part was so tender.. and since it's a big chicken, meat kept coming off no matter how much we picked.

The curly, medium-thick, soft kalguksu noodles paired with the fresh cabbage kimchi — need I say more!
And they also serve perilla oil sauce alongside.

We dipped the noodles in this and mixed them, and it felt like enjoying two different dishes! Just note the perilla sauce is already seasoned and salty, so portion control is a must!!

Adding a bit of the sunhyangmi rice and mixing it into the leftover broth made for a really hearty finish at this Bundang kalguksu spot.

Is the chicken tenderloin katsu set enough for two?
And the chicken tenderloin katsu set turned out even more generous than expected. Heads up, the portion is bigger than it looks!! One set is plenty for two people to share, so keep that in mind!

Tender chicken tenderloin, and above all, it seemed freshly fried since it came out piping hot — nothing fancy, maybe, but there's no way it wasn't delicious!!

And best of all, it comes with dinner rolls, pickles, and salad, so you can make it into a sandwich — guys especially would definitely love this^^
If you're looking for a Bundang kalguksu spot, or want a Sunae naengmyeon restaurant, how about Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae near Sunae Station? (Order the naengmyeon, the kalguksu, and the chicken katsu — try it all)
