Today I'm bringing you a review of a Goseong restaurant I found while traveling in Goseong, Gangwon-do!! It was a meat restaurant I discovered on my trip, and I was so satisfied 😍 The place I visited is Yongchon Gogi-jip! If you're looking for a good meat restaurant in Goseong, please read to the end 😉✨
What kind of restaurant is Yongchon Gogi-jip? 🤔

Yongchon Gogi-jip is a meat restaurant located in Goseong, Gangwon-do! 🥩 There were so many customers, but the parking lot was so big that I could visit comfortably without worrying about parking 😊

A phone reservation before visiting is a must!! It can be hard to get seated without one, so make sure to call ahead~! For group visits, there are private rooms separated by sliding doors, which seemed perfect for family gatherings or group trips 🙌
Yongchon Gogi-jip's pride: real charcoal and house-aged marinade 🥩

- High-quality charcoal used for grilling
- Top-grade domestic meat served
- House-made side dishes, prepared with good ingredients and care
- Salt-based marinade, so most of the weight stays pure meat!
- Never uses pre-made marinated galbi — they butcher and marinate and age it themselves!
What really impressed me was that instead of using pre-made marinated galbi, they wasted three truckloads of meat developing their own marinade recipe and age it themselves!! You could really taste that dedication 🥹 And the owner was so kind, which made the meal even more enjoyable 🥰
Fresh pork galbi and marinated pork galbi, 18,000 won each

🥩 Pork galbi & marinated pork galbi (₩18,000 each) The pork galbi is made from carefully selected 1st-grade meat, hand-cut to the ideal thickness! Since it's a salt-based marinade, the natural flavor of the meat comes through — it was light and clean 🤤

The marinated pork galbi is aged with their own recipe made after wasting three truckloads of meat! The marinade was soaked deep into the meat, and one bite instantly explained why the place is so busy 😭🙏

Charcoal-grilled pork belly, 18,000 won
🥓 Pork belly (₩18,000) The pork belly is top-grade meat grilled over charcoal! The subtle smoky aroma from the charcoal soaked into the belly, giving it a sweet yet savory flavor that was outstanding 🔥 I really felt the essence of charcoal-grilled pork belly!

Doenjang sulbap 8,000 won and doenjang jjigae 3,000 won
🍚 Doenjang sulbap (₩8,000) Doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice) is the perfect side to eat with the meat! I ordered it after seeing reviews saying people still crave it after going home, and it was a hearty, savory meal that paired perfectly with the meat 😊

🍲 Doenjang jjigae (₩3,000) The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) was only ₩3,000 but the quality was so good!! 😲 True to their house-made side dishes, the stew also tasted like it was made with care 🙌

Finishing with pollock naengmyeon sauce, 6,000 won
🍜 Pollock naengmyeon sauce (₩6,000) I finished the meal with pollock naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles with raw pollock)! Since it's pollock naengmyeon eaten in Goseong, Gangwon-do, they served it makguksu-style with mustard vinegar and sugar~ The spicy, tangy sauce completely cleared out my palate after all that meat 😆
If you're looking for a great meat restaurant in Goseong, definitely add this to your Goseong, Gangwon-do trip itinerary! And don't forget — phone reservation is a must before visiting~!!
