A weekend charcoal BBQ dinner at Euljiro Yeontan Gui

While looking for dinner spots in Seohae, Incheon, I ended up at Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch. My sibling and I got there around 4:30pm on a weekend, not long after they'd opened for the day. There were seats free when we walked in, but not long after we started eating, customers kept streaming in and the tables filled up fast.

I think the reason this place fills up so quickly is the combo of fresh meat, reasonable prices, and even seafood on the menu. That day we filled up on the assorted pork platter along with pork belly, rice, and cold noodles for dessert. Haha.

Walking from Gajeong Station to the Luone City restaurant street

Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch sits along the Luone City restaurant street, which is walkable from Gajeong Station.

It's about 400m from Exit 6 of Gajeong Station, so it's not far even if you're coming by public transit. The retro meat-house look of the exterior fits well with a night out for meat and drinks.

Parking: 3 hours free in the building lot

If you're visiting by car like we did, you can use the building's parking lot, which supports up to 3 hours. Between grilling meat and finishing with cold noodles, a meal for two can take a while, so it was nice not to feel rushed by the parking clock.

Parking is always a concern when making dinner plans in Seohae, Incheon, so it was great that driving there was this convenient.

Why the tables fill up from 4:30pm

When we walked in around 4:30pm it was still fairly relaxed, but not long after, customers started coming in one after another.

By the time we were eating, the tables had filled up so quickly that I could really feel how many people come out for an early dinner here.

The round tables and the distinctive charcoal-BBQ atmosphere worked well whether you're catching up with friends or grabbing meat and drinks after work.

The staff were also attentive and took care of whatever we needed, so the meal felt easy and comfortable.

The 600g assorted pork platter for 38,000 won

What we ordered today was the assorted pork platter, 600g for ₩38,000.

One plate came with several different cuts, which was great for the two of us to grill and share a variety of pork. Rather than eating one cut the whole time, we got to enjoy a different texture with each one, so our chopsticks kept going back for more.

Once the meat hit the charcoal, that savory smell rising up really made it feel like dinner was starting for real.

How the pork tastes grilled over charcoal briquettes

We grilled the meat slowly over the charcoal fire.

As the outside browned up, it picked up that subtle charcoal aroma, while the inside stayed juicy.

It was savory even with just a light dip in salt, and wrapping it with lettuce or the side dishes gave it a whole different flavor. With so many cuts to work through, it was fun switching between the milder ones and the chewier ones.

Adding 200g of pork belly for 12,800 won

Partway through the assorted pork, we added pork belly too — 200g for ₩12,800.

The pork belly got more savory the more it browned on the grill, and the mix of fat and lean meat gave it a great texture.

With that subtle charcoal aroma layered in, it was plenty flavorful with just a light dip in salt. We ended up ordering pork belly on top of the assorted pork — that's how much we kept eating.

Rice for 1,000 won and the free salad bar

Rather than just eating meat the whole time, we also ordered rice for ₩1,000. Piling the well-grilled pork belly on top of the rice, along with the side dishes, made it a satisfying dinner.

It's fine to just focus on meat if you're there for drinks, but ordering rice too meant we were plenty full even coming as a dinner outing. And having a salad bar to grab extra side dishes from was a really nice touch!!

Finishing with cold buckwheat noodles for 4,900 won

After we'd had plenty of meat, we ordered the dessert cold noodles (mul naengmyeon) for ₩4,900.

After sitting in front of the hot charcoal fire eating meat, the cold noodles cooled everything right down.

Rather than eating the noodles plain, we put a piece of leftover pork belly on top, and the savory meat paired really well with the cold broth. It was the kind of combination your hand just naturally reaches for after a meat meal.

A filling dinner in Seohae, Incheon

We walked in at 4:30pm on a weekend, and watching the tables fill up so quickly while we ate made it clear why this place gets so busy at dinner time.

From the assorted pork to the pork belly, rice, and cold noodles, the two of us ate really well, and the staff were friendly, which made the meal comfortable throughout.

We visited early in the evening, and the place was already lively enough that seats filled up fast. With the assorted pork letting us try several cuts, plus the added pork belly, and finishing with cold noodles, it was a really hearty dinner for two. Busy restaurants really do earn it. Haha.
